"Hey, could I talk to you for a second?"

You turned to see Yoongi who was barely taller than you, his hair being messy like it always was and his dark chocolate brown eyes slightly standing out from his pale skin and blonde hair. He stood straight with his head slightly looking down at you being only around 2 inches taller.

"I'll see you in first" Jungkook slightly whispered to you and you nodded understanding that he didn't want to be late, as he always wanted to be the good student in class. Once he left you turned back to Yoongi as he stood quietly as well waiting for the tall one to leave. 

"About what?" You asked curious as to why he was talking to you since he has never talked to you since the first day of basketball season.

"Coach told me to tell you that you were nominated to be team captain" he said in almost a complete monotone voice while slightly whispering with a blank stare. His deep voice has always been so mesmerizing to you. That sounded creepy but it just came out so soothing when it came from him.

You were slightly shocked and excited. You wanted to hug someone but since Yoongi was the only one standing close to you and you didn't know him that well you held back.

"Who else is nominated?" You asked curiosity taking over wanting to know who was going to be your competitor for being team captain.

"Me" he said simply. "Good luck" he said before walking away leaving you in the middle of the hallway.

On your way to your first period you thought about how you even got nominated. You knew you were better than most but not all. You've never really done a solo game with Yoongi since you were never assigned with him but from what you've seen he was a very good player. You were excited to see how it would turn out.

You were a very competitive person especially when it came to basketball never wanting to lose since that was the way your father had taught you to be.

You walked into first and sat next to Jungkook like always, he asked what Yoongi told you and you told him with an excited smile taking over your face.

"You're going to be team captain" Jungkook cheered with an excited expression after you had told him what happened.

"I'm nominated to be" you said seeming to correct him.

"So? You're way better than Yoongi" he said resting his head on his hands making his lips look a bit more puffed out.

"Have you seen him? He's one of the reasons why we win almost every game" you responded shrugging.

"Yeah, but you're the main reason we win" he said and punched you slightly making you smiled at what he stated.

Later that day in lunch you had to sit with the basketball team since it was a requirement for game days. It didn't make any sense but you couldn't really argue with the coaches.

Yeah, most of your friends were part of the team but you still wanted to talk with your other friends.

"Today should be an easy win" a guy said that sat in front of you. He had dark brown short hair and slightly narrowed eyes. He had a slight narrow face and incredibly soft and clear skin (not that you've ever touched it but it just looked so perfect). He didn't really talk much but you knew that his name was Kai since the team was supposed to introduce themselves every year.

"Anything is an easy win when we have Yoongi and y/n" the guy that sat next to the guy in front of you said. He had a bit more rounder face than Kai and darker eyes but somewhat same hair color.

"Tae's right, if we didn't have y/n or Yoongi we would be losing most games"

"You know, I've always wondered if Yoongi and y/n were ever in a 1v1 match; who would win?"

"It would obviously be Yoongi"

"Are you kidding? It's y/n"

The rest of the last couple of minutes of lunch you and Yoongi were mostly quiet while the team were discussing and giving reasons why you or Yoongi were the best player.

After school you wanted to go to the gym to do some dribbling and practices before the game started which was in half an hour. The game was set in the main gym and you were entering gym B which was located outside. Once you entered you saw Yoongi doing some shots making almost all of them.

You didn't notice yourself staring at him shooting and seeing how impressive his posture was until he spoke slightly making you feel embarrassed that he knew you were standing not doing anything.

"What do you need?" He asked and shot quickly making it in the hoop. He turned to you and you saw how even messier his hair was than it was in lunch and this morning. Pieces of his hair almost covering his left eye. He brushed it slightly back so he could observe you better.

"I was going to practice a bit before the game" you informed him and he stared at you for a couple of seconds until you spoke again slightly feeling uncomfortable with him just gazing at you with his perfect orbs. "It's fine if you want me to leave"

"I don't really mind" he shrugged and went back to slowly dribbling. You jogged to the basket that held all the basketballs and grabbed one. You tested them to see if there was enough air not wanting to get a bad ball until you found one with enough air.

You started to dribble almost in sync with Yoongi until you started going a faster pace. You stopped and shot making it in. You started shooting more making almost all of them which seemed to impress Yoongi since he never got any chances to observe how good you were seeming to always be busy.

"You're not bad y/n" he said and started walking towards you while still slowly dribbling as i held the basketball against my stomach. "I would totally beat you in a game though"

"Really? How come?" you asked with a slight smirk. He grew an amused smile at your response loving the fact that you were confident.

"I'm obviously better than you"

"How about a game?"

"Let's save that for later" he said holding the same amused smile.

"You're scared that you'll be beat by a girl" you teased and tilted your head with an even bigger smirk.

"I'm not, I just want everyone to see how you'll lose against me" he said with a confident grin making you chuckle slightly.

"We'll see about that"

"We will"

You both haven't noticed how close y'all were since with every time he or you spoke you both would take a step closer. You and him were now just a couple of inches away. You could slightly smell his faint cologne scent wanting to lean in more as you were loving the way he smelled.

"We've been looking for y'all everywhere-"

You and him both turned at the same time to see Jungkook at the entrance door having a slight shocked expression seeing Yoongi and you so close with no one else in the room.

"Sorry was I interrupting something?" He asked with a small frown looking between the both of y'all. You both turned back at each other and finally realized how close both of you were quickly stepping away to have some space.

"No"

"It was nothing"

You both said quickly making Jungkook have a slight suspected look.

"Okay, well coach said y'all need to be in the main gym in like 5 minutes"
