To say Y/N was popular among the nothernman in Kattegat would be an understatement. Heads turned anywhere she went and many men had asked for her hand or invited her into their beds. Occassionally she would have some fun with one, but never intented to marry them.

Especially the young princes took a liking towards her. They made it a challenge to see which Ragnarsson would eventually win her over. Some of them were more devoted to the challenge than others.

Sigurd for example would constantly bump into her on 'accident' and then offer to walk her to wherever she was headed to . He would follow her around like a little puppy, which she indeed found cute, but Sigurd wasn't the man for her.

Ubbe on the other hand would endlessly be flirting with her. A mischievously smile always plastered on his face. He would look her up and down shamelessly and whisper inappropriate things in her ear. She, in fact, did find Ubbe very attractive. It was no secret that they had shared a couple nights together. But that's all there was between them. she never considered Ubbe to be a good or faithful husband, so she never agreed to his proposals.

Ivar came across to her as mysterious. They shared conversations about a lot of things but he would never talk about himself. He was very strong on lingering eye contact and, she couldn't deny, had a gorgeous face. However, Ivar the boneless was too occupied with power for her liking and he had a dark side that she wasn't so fond of either.

She was more into easygoing and fun guys that could make her laugh. Which brings us to the last prince of Kattegat. Hvitserk Ragnarsson had been the boy she crushed on throughout her childhood. As kids they would spend every day together, going on adventures and causing trouble. Unfortunately, when they grew elder their close friendship changed.

Hvitserk had been in love with Y/N for years, but never acted upon it. He was convinced that she held no feelings for him and that he would only risk losing their friendship by telling her.

This fear was confirmed when they were 15 years old and had been drinking way too much mead at their first viking party in the great hall. In a drunken impusle Hvitserk had kissed her and she had kissed him back. Right after that kiss would've been the perfect opportunity for them to express their feelings to each other, but they didn't. They decided it just happened in the moment and meant nothing. A decision they both still regret, because after that night things got awkward. It felt like they couldn't act 'normal' around each other anymore. And to make matters worse Y/N started getting a lot of attention from the boys in Kattegat, and after a couple years from the men in Kattegat as well.

Hvitserk was jealous. He hated seeing her with other men, flirting and laughing. And he hated himself, for missing his chance with her. But most of all he hated it when he saw his brother Ubbe, the baker's son or any other guy leaving her cabin in the morning. He wanted it to be him, only him.

But if he expressed his feelings for her now he would just be one of the many and she would compare him to every other men. That's why he wouldn't participate in his brothers's stupid competition. Which he thought Ubbe was winning anyway.

It made him envious because he knew Ubbe didn't really love Y/N. Ubbe just loved woman in general and bedded as many as he could. A while ago Hvitserk had decided to try that stragety as well. He started sleeping with their slave Margrethe and about every other girl in Kattegat. Maybe that way he would get over his Y/N, but no luck so far.
