Great. Just great. Benny had given us away.

Sometimes I wonder how it's possible to survive on this plannet with idiots like him hanging around. It's amazing, really.

We couldn't stay in there; we'd be cornered. So, it looked like we were on the run again, and it seemed liked we'd be bringing Benidict with us. (Curse my soft heartedness.) With Clare leading the way, we stormed out of that cupboard and were off down the hall at top speed, Benidict in tow.

"Where are we going?" I panted.

"I was thinking of heading to the storage section on the other side of the building," said Clare, not even a bit out of breath.

"You've got to be kidding me; all the way to the other side? Wow! You've got to be like a super athlete, or something!" Benidict obviously wasn't up for the run. To be honest, neither was I. And that is why I never joined cross country club in primary school.

I caught sight of a lab coat. Gggrrrhh! Not now! I was too out of breath to do anything about it...

"Looks like we don't have a choice. Come on," yelled Clare. She was right; we had no choice.

"Ok," I muttered, preping myself, and gave myself an extra boost of energy before sprinting after Clare. I could only hope that Benidict was following.

Time lapse to after about ten minutes of solid sprinting...

Now, it was just getting ridiculous. The problem was there were white-coats posted on most of the corridors, so when one bunch gave up, our heavy footsteps attracted a whole new load.

I thought I was going to pass out if I had to go one more step; I was wrong. But I knew one thing for certain: we could not run any more.

"Ok, are we nearly there yet?" I moaned/panted/choked.

"Ah, yes," Clare finally replied. "We're practically there now! Just the next turn, and..."

We took a sharp right turn and suddenly, I found myself facing a row of storage cupboards.

"Wait a second, you knew about these cupboards? They're practically the route to escape! Why didn't you tell me?" I demanded.

"I didn't know they were that important!" Clare said, defensively. "Besides, they're all locked anyway!"

I groaned inwardly. They were totally, utterly useless.

"Not if you have a key." This was the first thing that Bennidict had said since we'd made our run for it. And it sounded real important.

"What did you just say?" I pounced on his suggestive sentence.

"Um, I think I just said I have a key..."

He looked a bit intimidated. Maybe I pounced a bit to much.

"Well, let's see it." I didn't like how relaxed everyone seemed. "We're still on the run here, guys. We should probably get a move on!"

As Bennidict pulled the shiny metal object from his pocket, I thought:

'What would we do without useful things like keys?'
