You Know Me?

Chapter 4 - Bustin' out

I had officially been in there too long. I was so bored, I might actually have enjoyed watching a ten hour documentary on: The complete life of a sea cucumber (life span of 100 years). And that, my friends, is how desperate I was. And I had only been sitting there for 1 hour. Yes, as you may have guessed, I'm ADHD.

That was when my brilliant brain hatched a plan. I knew by now that I was important enough to Martin for him to not want to lose me, so I took that to my advantage. All I needed to do was make it look convincing, and that's when my acting skills came into play, along with the help of some stage props. I loosened up my shoulders and got ready to be my part.

I gave my most shrill shriek.

"Dr. Martin!" I cooed in my most inocent voice. "Help me! I think I've broken my arm! OUCH! It hurts," I whined. I shut up for a second to hear hurried footsteps pacing along the hall outside. Yes! I thought. The damn idiot bought it! Now time for the grand finale!

I grabbed up a couple of spongey looking experiment things, and stacked them up on the table, in a resonably body-sized shape. Then I took off my bulky school coat and carefully draped it ontop. It really looked NOTHING like me at all, but from the other end of the room, it could just about make you stop and think.

When I was happy with my display, I scurried behind the sliding metal door (I hadn't seen it when I first arrived). Martin was right outside now. As soon as I heard the door slide open, I leaped out like a coiled spring, launching myself into him with all my force. Lucky for me, I caught the bigger man offguard and easily overpowered him.

I scrambled to my feet before Martin and made it to the doors before they slid shut again. I locked the door behind me and leaned against it. Now, where was I? Time for some exploring!
