You walked up fast to your room in the dorm house, sighing as you slid down to the ground with your back against the door. No one knew the real you, the antisocial you that didn't even want to be out of her room some days because of her PTSD for her past. Your hands shook as you rolled up the sleeves of your shirt and looked at the burn marks that covered one arm completely and the other held permanent scarring from the cuts that you and your mother gave you.
A small sigh released from your lips as you stared down at them, taking off your school uniform jacket to reveal more up your arms. At least Shoji could cover his, not to mention Shoto with his eye but you could never show your body off. It was horrible what they did to you in the past. You couldn't count how many times one of your friends asked you why you didn't take off your long sleeve when it was hot out or you went swimming. How could you answer them, oh I have a ot of scars along my body from my abusive mother and hate showing them because they all make me have panic attacks and several things trigger them through out the day.
"Y/n dear some in here for a second" You mother called for you as you played out back with your old doll you sewn up yourself. You walked slowly inside finding her with your dad at the table. He seemed terrified of her as she stared down at you. She had a split personality order was what you blamed it all on. She would change from this sweet tone to an absolutely terrifying one like a switch was flipped in her head.
"Dear could you explain to us why the school called saying you kicked one of your class mates in the shin at recess?" She asked as she bent down and cupped your cheek softly, you were trembling as her eyes locked with yours.
"h-he was m-making fun of m-my shirt so I k-kicked him as pay b-back" Slap, and she turned in an instant.
"You know you don't want to be known as a little brat in school you little bitch, we don't want to be seen got that!" She yelled as she took her cigarette from her other hand and burnt your forearm as hard and long as she could. Hearing you sob and call out your dad's name to help you but he was to scared to even lay a finger on her.
"Y/n are you in there?" You heard a deep voice from outside your door, breaking you from your flashback of it all. You raced in to the bathroom and forgot to grab your jacket from your bed. As you were about ready to go and grab it your door opened up to reveal your emo best friend and well your boyfriend since the first day of school
"Yeah I'm in here Toko um..." You wanted to ask him for your jacket but he would ask why. You just wanted to cry, why did he have to be in there as soon as you take it off. That's when you chest started to feel heavy, of course you were having a panic attack.
"Are you okay you were kind of more distant then you usually are today" Tokoyami asked as you leaned against the door trying to catch your breath. You looked at yourself in the mirror, tears welding up in your eyes as you gripped at your throat. You needed to calm down, he wouldn't judge you for your scars. He is your best friend why would he. He isn't that way he isn't at all why would you think that.
"Y/n.....are you okay in there....are you having a panic attack again?" He asked as he knocked on your bathroom door in your room. You couldn't answer, you covered your ears and sat down with your knees up to your chest. You couldn't let him see you like this, but you needed to calm down and needed his comfort. At this point you were sobbing as you sat on the floor. The door knob started to turn, you tried to cover your arms as best your could but you couldn't cover it all. That's when you felt arms wrap around you, he picked you up from the floor and carried you on to your bed. Resting your jacket around your shoulders, and rested his hands on top of them.
"Y/n breath okay you are fine please breath...in and out....in and out" You followed his steps to breathing, laying your head against his chest as you calmed down some finally. He rubbed your back softly as you laid against him, pecking your forehead softly.
"You okay now Y/n?" he asked you as you shifted your body to lay more comfortable on him. Then you realized it, he didn't even mention your scars on your arms. it's like he has seen them before and it never fazed him. Did he not care about them? As sat up from him and wiped your eyes so they wouldn't be blurry when you seen him.
"Well?"
"well what Y/n"
"You going to say something about me not wearing my jacket....now you know why I can't take it off" You said as you watched his eyes stare at your arms. Looking over every area, he leaned closer and ran his warm fingers over them. He sighed as he pulled you in to a hug, holding you tightly. you couldn't help but sob in to his chest as he held you close. He wasn't one for hugging so this surprised you greatly.
"I'm so sorry that happened to you Y/n.....I never knew why and now I understand completely why you would want to cover them up. This should have never happened to you, you're to good for this. You never should have deserved this happening to you." He replied, he didn't even ask why you didn't tell him in the first place. All his concern was your safety. You smiled softly as you buried your head in to his chest. Why haven't I met you sooner then this year Tokoyami? You asked yourself as you sat there with him on your bed in silence.
"Is this why you have so many panic attacks?" He asked softly in to your ear, all you did was nod your head slightly. He kissed your lips and cupped your cheeks, staring in to your E/c eyes.
"I'm so sorry.....I'm never going to let that happen to you ever again okay my dove, Dark Shadow will make sure of that I promise you" Tokoyami said as Dark Shadow appeared right behind him, nuzzling up beside you full of comfort. You giggled slightly as you held them both, you couldn't have asked for a better friend then him and you knew he would protect you and help you every step of the way when you need him to. That's why you fell in love with him of course.
