(This starts in book 4 of KOTLC, Neverseen, chapter 41)

"Biana was right, these masks smell weird." Keefe said as the 6 friends leaped to Exillium.

They arrived on a slope of a misty mountain. They climbed the rocky path and noticed that the trees around them look normal and healthy.

"No sign of the plague here." Sophie said.

"So um...where's the school? Do you think we leaped to the wrong place?" Biana asked.

"How?" Dex asked "We used the beads."

"Ha! Told you we shouldn't have used the beads! It totally looked suspicious!" Adelaide exclaimed.

Her friends smiled, humored by the girl's antics.

Then Sophie' s smile dropped as she said "if we're lost..."

"Then we all jump off these cliffs," Fitz said, "and teleport as close as we can get to alluveterre."

"Or she could take us to Foxfire," Keefe jumped in, "and we could run through the halls screaming, 'YOU CANT GET RID OF US THAT EASILY!'"

"Oooh! I second that!" Adelaide exclaimed.

"Yeah I like that plan." Dex said.

"Me too!" Biana agreed.

"Of course you do it's brilliant."

The walked a little further until they reached a rocky clearing so thick with mist, they couldn't see the ground.

"This place is freaky," Dex whispered. "Do you think this is it?"

Sophie pointed to the center of an arch where the same x symbol they'd seen before seen to taunt them.

"Okay." Sophie whispered. "From this point on we keep a low profile, and if we find something we-"

The rest of Sophie's instruction appeared in a scream.

Adelaide felt thick rope which tightened around her ankle, pulling her of the ground and leaving her dangling upside down. Her friends look like they had the same problem as they hung beside her flailing and thrashing.

"Welcome to your dividing!" A raspy female voice shouted from somewhere in the fog.

The mist parted and a figure in a red hordes cloak stepped forward, followed by two other figures in a blue cloak and in a royal purple cloak.

The said some other words but Adelaide only heard "no right answer.", "light leaping doesn't count." And "untie or sever the cord." As she had easily reached for the knot on her shoe and used her mind to untied it with telekinesis, thanking her brother for teaching her how to untie knots with her mind.

"Anyone having any luck?" Fitz asked. "This knot is impossible."

"Almost out." Keefe said.

"Well too bad you won't be first." Adelaide said as the rope had untied and she swiftly landed on the ground like one of those cool spies in human movies.

The coaches nodded in approval at her.

She heard Keefe mumble "ow" several times before shouting "YOU THINK YOU CAN HOLD M—"

A pound tip cut him off, and a bunch of words that would definitely get him detention before a CRUNCH! left him silent.

"Are you okay?" Sophie asked.

"Oof that must have hurt." Adelaide said at the same time.

"Well I've definitely been better." Keefe groaned. "Guess I forgot to brace for the fall."

"He also forgot his pants," the blue cloaked figure notes.

A wave of snickers followed. The whole school must be hiding in the mist.

"Oy his boxers are covered in little banshees!" A kid shouted.

"Bet he owed himself too," another said.

"SILENCE!" The blue coached snapped. "Those if you still trapped should not concern yourselves with those who are free. Both of them passed the test. Can you say the same?"

"I can in third!" Dex shouted back.

Soon Biana freed herself too and so did fitz.

The only one left was Sophie.

Adelaide watched as her friend started her plan. Then suddenly there was fire. Adelaide panicked as she saw Sophie fall but a powerful stream knocked Sophie back.

The wave had saved her but Sophie fell unconscious from the pain of her burns.

Adelaide and the rest of the group ran towards Sophie.

"Stand back." the blue cloaked guy said.

He used telekinesis to make Sophie float and said to Keefe, "You there! With the broken leg, follow me."

Adelaide looked at both of her friends worriedly. She knew that Fitz and Biana were too. But the two other cloaked figures brought her attention to them.
