A week has gone by since Sophie and Fitz saved the gnome. The coaches luckily did not eject them and gave them a second chance.

Adelaide tried hard in the exillium exercises as practiced her charger skills every night. She and her friends tried to find more about the psionipath but their coaches were too guarded to answer their questions. The campus has been moved to yet another location without the slightest trace of the plague. They had to change into wetsuits and use swim caps that covered their hair and enormous goggles that covered their faces. That waded into the chilly water to float facedown and try to stay there.

Adelaide noticed that the hydrokinetic was struggling and sent a worried glance to her. The shade tried to calm the hydrokinetic down but she kept mumbling "I can't, I can't, I can't."

Soon the girl was in tears but after awhile she stayed silent.

Adelaide then focused on her task. After a while, She noticed that she was one of the last ones along with Sophie and two others.

The other two waywards gave up and Adelaide soon gave up too. Sophie on the other hand was still keeping steady.

The purple coach pulled Sophie out of the lake and announced "It appears we have a new record! Forty-six minutes."

"Forty-six?" Sophie asked.

"Take a hundred deep breaths and your head will the clear." The coach told Sophie.

Adelaide look at her sister-like best friend proudly. A new record is exactly what Adelaide expected Sophie to set when they first arrived exillium.

They got their beads and changed to their regular uniforms.

She saw Sophie next to the hydrokinetic and the shade. The hydrokinetic was holding a yellow crystal.

I'm going to follow them to find out if they know more about the plague, can you tell the rest not to worry? Adelaide heard Sophie transmit to her.

She nodded in Sophie's direction.

Thanks Addy. Sophie said before taking the shade's offered hand.
