So theres no lightening the mood.

"Actually Ma... Me and Derek have to... just go... we have to-" I stammer.

"Stop with the bull- little man! You will come downstairs and talk or... you don't want to know how I'll get the truth out of you!" And despite her pause, the threat is still terrifying and genuine enough to make Derek tighten his grip on me. Not enough for Ma to notice, but I guess Derek's not as good at controlling his wolfiness than he thinks...

"Ok! Ok! Fine lets go downstairs!" I say, ushering them both downstairs. They both sit in the living room and look at me expectantly. "Tea? I could really go for some tea right now. Either of you want tea?"

"No Stiles, get to it!" Ma says, rolling her eyes.

"Right... Getting to it... I...Uh..." I start pacing. I can't help it. Nervousness is never a good look on me.

"Stiles, come sit." Derek insists, tapping a space next to him on the sofa. I nod, and sit next to him and relax a little when he wraps an arm round me. "Oday ouyay antway otay elltay erhay?" *Do you want to tell her?* He whispers to me.

"I'm old, not stupid, Derek. I know Pig Latin." Ma sighs.

"Yeah Derek, Ixnay on the upidstay." *Nix on the stupid* I say and he rolls his eyes, big surprise there. "Utbay ouldway ouyay ebay okway ithway atthay?" *But would you be okay with that?*

"Ouryay oicechay" *Your choice* He says shrugging and so I nod.

"Iway inkthay eway ouldshay." *I think we should*

"Ogay onway enthay." *Go on then* Another eye roll.

"Ancay ouyay oday itway?" *Can you do it?* Yes I'm a chicken, sue me.

"I don't care who decides to do it, just tell me you two little so and so's." Ma interrupts our little chat.

"Yeah, ok... So... Me and Derek... We... Scott and... Do you remember Lydia?-" Again, my aimless rambling in interrupted by Ma.

"Ok, I'm going to leave the room for you two to get your story straight. You have five minutes, tops." She states, before standing up and leaving the room.

"Pig latin, really?" I say, the minute she closes the door.

"I don't think thats the important thing right now." He sighs and I nod in agreement. "How much do you want to tell her?"

"I don't know. I think she'll be fine with anything as long as I'm safe." I admit. I don't know why it's so scary to tell her.

"Which you're not right? Because, you said, I'm not great at protecting people!"

"Why are you bringing that up now?"

"This seems like as good a time as any!"

"No, right now is the time for discussing the fact that Ma is just outside this room and in 3 minutes, she's going to come in here demanding we tell her all about our freaky supernatural lives."

"I don't know what you want me to do about that, apparently, I'm not a good enough alpha to make any decisions about what to tell her."

"Really, Derek? You have to choose right now to be a petty asshole?"

"Yes Stiles, I have to be an asshole, it's in my nature, isn't it?" He says in an accusing tone.

"Hey! I've never said that!"

"Not to my face..."

"I don't bitch about you behind your back, if that's what you're implying."

"That's not what Erica says..."

"If you want to accuse me of something, say it to my face, don't just hint at what Erica says! Since when was Erica a reliable source anyway?"

"Since-"

"Ok boys, I'm going to stop you right there..." Ma cuts in. "You two could argue all day, but I want answers first." She re-enters the room with a cup of tea, then situates herself back into her armchair.

"Derek's a werewolf who's crazy uncle bit Scott who is now also a werewolf, along with... Umm... Jackson, Isaac, Erica, Boyd, the Twins... You don't know them yet... Uh... Alison is a Werewolf hunter, but we're still bezzies, except for those times her and her father tried to kill us all.... We're over that now, Lydia is now a banshee, yeah, we're not too sure either, it's to do with death. Scott's girlfriend since the last year of highschool is a lightning fox with a 900 year old mother... We've all died at least three times and... I think that's about it and I'm going to go upstairs now. Derek, oh Alpha, my Alpha, will tell you the rest. He can prove everything and I just want to go lie down." I say all in one breath. I guess my tether just snaps. Why can't he understand why I don't  like him being the Alpha and throwing himself head first into everything? Derek's mouth drops open at one point and doesn't close until Ma shakes her head as if to clear it. Before I can leave though, Ma grabs my arm.

"You're staying right here. What kind of an excuse was that?"

"It wasn't an excuse Ma, that's my life."

"Yeah, Yeah, supernatural good for you, I mean what happened with the nearly dying? Why was I not informed, what happened, walk me through it."

"Really, Ma, that's your problem with this?" Of course. I should't have told her about the near death experiences.

"Yeah, I'm going to need proof of the creature of the night thing later, but spill. If this has anything to do with your boy toy sitting on the sofa in the corner right now, I will hang him with his own intestines!" Ma says, shifting her accusing gaze from me to Derek who is practically fainting with fear.

"No, Ma of course not."

"As much as I like this charming young man, I will have to destroy him if I find out he ever put you in danger."

"Ma, I said no. Derek has never done anything that would ever result in me being hurt. Not once." I say, realising it's true as the words leave my mouth. It's not me I'm constantly worried about. "He always benches me when anything gets dangerous and does everything to make sure I'm never in harms way, even if it means he gets himself in trouble." Which is fricking stupid if you ask me.  "He's like that for the whole pack." Which means it happens way too often. "That's how we work." Not that I like it one bit. "Everyone is there for everyone and even through all we've been through,  no one has died." Not one person. I guess we haven't done too bad... "Maybe a little maiming, some broken bones, some missing limbs and ressurections, but he is the best alpha a pack could have and I said some things that weren't true because I was mad at him always sidelines me, but it is all just for my protection. I know that." So this is all my fault it turns out. If I wasn't so vunerable, he wouldn't have to risk his ass protecting me. "I'm weaker than everyone else, I can't run as fast or heal as quickly or punch through walls to escape jails and they shouldn't have to protect me 24/7. A chain is only as strong as it's weakest link." And with that, I leave the room and walk back up to my- our bedroom, avoiding Derek and Ma's eyes, not wanting to face the reprecussions of my words right now. Soon, Derek will follow me and try and fool me into thinking what I said wasn't true, and I'll pretend to believe him again, and the whole thing will repeat until one of us inevitably dies.

What a jolly Christmas Eve this is turning out to be. *Yup, I forgot this was supposed to be festive again*

I... Uhh... I'm sorry? It's been ages, I know. My brain completely blanked out so it;s kinda bad, but, hey, an update! I uh.., don't really have an excuse. My wifi has been on and off, I've been kinda ill and I've been really busy, but really, there's not excuse... I am sorry. When Derek and Stiles are talking, they're talking in pig latin. It's really easy to translate, but I added it in for you in case you can't be botherd or anything. Basically I got that whole thing from Zazu's line in the lion king, 'Ixnay on the upidstay'.

In other happier news, I've started a book of oneshots (Sterek so far) to help with the writers block so... check it out if you want I guess?

Again, really sorry....  I really appreciate all of you reading this.
