3 // the favor

It has been weeks since the encounter between Jena and Yunho happened. That night, She sent Yunho out to Jane's room safely without both of her parents noticing. When the both of them showed up at Jane's door, the latter was beyond shocked. Jane apologized to Jena for giving her boyfriend the wrong window count and gave her a hug instead. Jena brushed it off, saying that it wasn't a big deal and left the couple to spend their quality time together. 

Currently, Jena is in her room, studying for her last day of final exams week. Her hair is brought up in a bun as her left hand held a fork. She does another calculus question while her other hand simutaneously stabbed another piece of apple. "This shit's done!" She closed her textbook and moved on to her next one. While doing a graph question, a knock on her door was heard. Jena turned her head towards the door to find her mom standing there. "Hey baby." reflexly, she rolled her eyes, "What is it with people and calling me baby?" Jena huffed. Her mom lets out a laugh, eyes disappearing. "You are indeed a big baby." She made her way over to her youngest daughter and kissed the crown of her head.

"Don't stress yourself too much baby." Jena's mom said, "You're doing awesome." Jena smiled at this. She had insecurity problems in the past. Always saying that she is worthless and useless, thinking that whatever she does is not good enough, resulting her overworking herself to the extent of fainting a couple of times in a week. When her family came to learn about what Jena had been struggling with, crying would be an understatement to describe what they had done that night. Her parents apologized over and over again while hugging her tightly, saying sorry for not taking care of her well. Jane never let Jena go that night, she slept beside her and held her tight, saying that she is very grateful for having her as her sister. Her brother, starts on babying Jena more and more, showering her with love and gifts. 

So what her mom said is true. Ever since that night, Jena became the family's precious daughter slash sister. Every single member of the Shin household would take an extra care of her, at an overwhelming amount that is. Constantly reminding Jena that she is precious. "Thanks mom, it means a lot to me." She kissed her mother on her cheek. Her mom left her and she went back to study. 

Her results for the most recent calculus test was not that pretty, she had used a wrong approach to a question, scoring a 98% on the very test. If the whole school is the top 1% of South Korea, then Jena would be in the 0,1% of the whole population. Wonderland Academy had a standart of education higher than other high schools, making it impossible for any student to step in it. The system are only made for genuinely smart students, so money can't really buy one's way in. Students who didn't show any progress in their studies, grades dropping more than ten points, would immediately be dropped out from the school for not showing enough 'competence'. Jena, luckily, is currently ranked in the top five in her whole school, sitting on the first place. Her best friend, sits right behind her, on the second. Even though people would constantly gossip and compare the two, they never mind, being first and second are more than enough for them to land a spot in the most prestigious universities exsisting in the world. 

Furrowing her eyebrows, Jena struggles with a question. Pausing for a while to go through the possibilites of each approach. Her thoughts were disturbed when her sister came in, barging into her room like it's nothing. "Baby! help a sister out please!" Jane flopped down into the mattres behind Jena. "What?" Jena asked short, clicking her tounge since she lost her toughts. "I just got an email from the school." Jane explained. "I thought KQ sent those directly to mom and dad?" Jena turned around to face her sister. "I know, i hacked into their email." Jane confessed like it's not a big deal. "O-kay?" Jena replied, unsure on how to react.

"Anyways baby, KQ High said that I might need to stay back a year if i don't do well in the upcoming midterms." Jane whined. Jena sighed, feeling that the whole situation is ridiculous. "So you want me to help you with your studies." Jena concluded. Jane nodded enthusiastically, glad that her sister knows exactly what she is thinking. "Fine, send me your materials and I'll help you study." Jena agrees, but much to her agreement, Jane's face falls. "Baby,what I mean by needing your help in my studies pretty much takes advantage of our similar looks." Jane explains, "Your finals will end tomorrow while mine will start the day after tomorrow. I want you to go to KQ as me, baby."
