I walk down the street, hands in pockets. People cower, hiding their children.

I smirk.

I like doing this. Just my presence terrorizes people. Just powerful do they plan on making me anyway?

The smell of fear permeates the air. I can hear locks turning.

Don't go out Jimmy, he's walking again.

Damn right, Nancy. Hide your fucking children.

I keep walking. I'll round the block, just to give the kids nightmares and then I'll head home.

I chuckle. Stupid kids. I'm not gonna kill you. As long as you stay inside.

It's thrilling really. People will give you power, as long as you give them something to fear. I enjoy giving people something to fear.

It excites me, and I think, in a weird, help me he's going to murder me way, it enjoys everyone else too.

I turn around at the end of the street.

"Excuse me!"

I pause. Um...a little odd, someone addressing me directly, and with such a...peppy tone.

I turn around and smile. "Yes? How can I help?"

"Oh, thank god," she smiles back, comforted. "I'm new here. Can you point me to this apartment building. My phone is dead."

My mind instantly flickers to the fact I could murder her, ditch her phone, and bury her in that lot I was going to burn.

I don't want to. I just could.

I smile. "Sure. Which apartment complex is it?"

She looks down. Must've come from a small town, coming up to strangers with expecting to murdered.

"It's Meadow Acres."

I smile kindly, pointing her in right direction. "You'll go left and keep going till you hit the Main Street. Then you'll go right and keep going a little ways. It is a far walk though, need a ride?" I ask.

"Um...I don't want to trouble you. It just seems like everyone sleeps early here?"

They didn't even try to warn the poor girl. How horrible!

"Oh yes. It seems like every time I walk this street everyone goes inside," I chuckle.

She laughs with what she assumes is a joke.

"Ma'am?"

My whole body shudders in disgust. Oh god. Not this asshole. My fist ball up.

Mister golden boy. Local law enforcemnt. Stick up his ass a mile fucking high. Always ruining my fun.

A few windows open.

They really shouldn't think he'll keep them safe. One day, I'll kill him.

He smiles at her, giving me what I assume is a warning look. I chuckle.

Bitch try me. I'll have your entrails all down this fucking street.

He urges her away from me. "Hello ma'am. I'm a sheriff here in this town. Do you need some help."

I smile, stepping toward him. "Oh you can go in back to your prescient, Goldie, I'm going to take her home."

Ever one for the safety of citizens, he's not thrilled.
