Soma was whistling in his room and he slowly but effectively sharpens his knife.
Soma: I wonder what Y/n is up to right now. He probably knows about the food war by now.
He puts his knife down and thinks back to earlier that day.
Flashback:
Megumi: Was it really a good idea to leave Y/n at the dorms like that?
Soma: Relax, it isn't like we have classes today.
Megumi: I guess that makes sense. He should know we don't have classes too.
The two of them approach a notice board nearby and Soma begins to read it.
Megumi: Are you browsing through the research societies?
Soma: Research what?
Megumi: They're basically clubs that research certain parts of the culinary world.
Soma: Huh....The Rice Bowl research society? I could use some new recipes for Yukihira! Let's go there.
Megumi: O-Okay!
What they weren't expecting was for the whole room to be empty. Except for one person sitting in a chair, dejected.
Megumi: Um.... are you Kanichi Konishi? The leader of the club?
Kanichi: Yeah sorry, bowl club has hit its final days.
Soma: What, why?
Kanichi: It's all because of her! Erina Nakiri!
Soma: !?
Kanichi: Whenever she doesn't like a club she starts taking away the budget and making the lives for the members terrible. Leaving you with only one choice.....
Soma: A food war, right?
Kanichi nods.
Soma: Hmmm. Well who's fighting for bowl club's honor?
Kanichi: When everyone in bowl club realized Erina was after us they....they freaking quit!
Megumi: Oh...so the only one that can fight Erina is you?
Soma: No. I think I know someone else who would be more than happy to help!
???: Oh, is that so?
A different voice from the door causes everyone to turn their heads.
Kanichi: I-it's her!?
Soma: Who's that?
Kanichi: She's the meat master at our school. Ikumi Mito.
Ikumi: Well, I heard you knew someone who could fight for bowl club. Who is it? Is it you?
Ikumi was talking to Soma. He didn't seem to nervous though.
Soma: No, it's someone I know.
Megumi: You don't mean-
Soma: F/N L/N! He'll be your opponent during the food war!
Ikumi: You can't make that decision if he isn't even here.
Megumi: She's right Soma. Both people have to be here in order for the food war to become official.
Soma: That's no problem.
Soma pulls out a paper from his pocket and holds it up.
Soma: As you can see, Y/n already accepted.
