A Dish Worthy of You

Megumi rushed into the kitchen with Y/n, she wasn't going to lose. Not now! Not when Y/n gave her an even bigger reason to stay than ever before.

Y/n: Alright Megumi, I'll follow your lead!

Megumi: O-Okay! What should I do?

Y/n: The only advice I can give you right now, is to cook with your heart, not your head.

Megumi nodded. She had to think. She wanted to still be able to go to Totsuki. She wanted to stay at Polar Star Dormitories, with all of her friends. She wanted to stay with Y/n. All of these feelings inside of her, began to manifest a dish in her mind. It wasn't completely clear, but she knew what she wanted.

Megumi: Y/n, I need you to grab me Tomatoes, Carrots, Eggplants, Potatoes and Cabbage! Can you do that?

Y/n: You got it!

Megumi: Make sure you dry the tomatoes out, the oven will work, but if you can find a more natural way to do it, that'd be great!

Y/n: I know just the thing!

Y/n ran out of the room for a sec and Soma followed close behind. Megumi could hear Kojiro scoff behind her.

Kojiro: You didn't come in here with a plan? How do you expect to be a good chef if you can't in have a rough idea of what dish you're going to make before you arrive?

Megumi: I may not have known what kind of dish I was going to make but I do know now!

Kojiro: And what kind of dish would that be?

Megumi: I'm going to make a dish filled with the passion I have for cooking. I love being a chef, and I'm not going to let this obstacle stop me from being one!

Kojiro didn't budge, but he was slightly surprised by Megumi's sudden change in attitude.

Kojiro: Why is she suddenly so desperate to stay here? What could have changed?

Y/n: We're back!

Soma: Sorry we took so long.

The two young men walked in with a portable grill. Megumi recognized it as one that Soma has used in the past.

Y/n: I don't know about you, but grilled food always has a more realistic taste, ya know?

Megumi: That's perfect! I'll be counting on you.

Y/n: I'm waiting for my orders boss!

Megumi grabbed some pork and chicken liver and began to cook them. She made a square base on the plate and continued to work on her layering system.

Megumi: If I'm going to put these ingredients into different layers, I need to be careful.

Y/n: Alright Megumi, I'm done cutting the vegetables over here, and I've dried out the tomatoes too!

Megumi: That's perfect Y/n, thank you!

Y/n: Anything to help.

Y/n's smile caused Megumi to blush. She knew that she could do this!

Dojima: Are you two finished?

Megumi: A-Almost!

Megumi just needed to make one more thing. A sauce would go perfectly with this dish. After she finished the sauce however, she began to get cold feet.

Megumi: W-What if the meat is undercooked, what if the sauce is too tangy, what if-

Megumi felt a hand on her shoulder and she turned around. Y/n stood behind her facing Dojima.
