As I lay on my bed looking up at the ceiling I pondered about the day yet to come. My first friend; so this is how it feels. I got out of bed to shut the window that had just flung open. When I looked out of the window I saw a figure trying to open my dad's car, he knew that he wouldn't be able to do it without someone hearing.
I could just about make out what looked like a small axe lying on the ground beside him. The figure turned around and I quickly did so too gluing my back to the wall. A moment later I looked out of the window once again, the stranger was nowhere to be seen, the axe had been left on the ground... someone was trying to open the back door, then a while after, the front.
I slowly walked down the stairs trying not to make a sound. I got my dads gun out of the safe; I had known the code since I was 6 years old. I silently opened the door... too late the figure had gone before I could... I could... actually I don't know what I was going to do, what was I thinking?! I had never handled a gun before in my entire life, I didn't even know if it was loaded!
I went back upstairs, after putting the gun back into the safe when I bumped into my dad
"What were you doing downstairs?" my dad said half way through a yawn, I barely understood him.
"I was just getting a glass of milk." I lied through my teeth
"Well, it's late. Get to bed," my father walked back to his room.
I wasn't feeling tired at all when I got into my room, so I started to draw, started to draw what I'd seen. I'd decided to call him the axe man. Maybe he was a figment of my imagination.
