Bruce's P.O.V

The van was packed; it smelt like a dead skunk in there. I met the leader of the Denali's gang yesterday after school, they said I was just the kind of built up guy they needed; I don't really want to join I can't see any point to joining.

Someone tapped on the window at the front " we're here boss."

The strangers surrounding me pulled me up at dragged me out off the vehicle; they threw me onto the ground. We were preferably in the middle of nowhere, surrounding by trees and guess what... more trees. I could see a big house up in the hills.

"Now we only do this on rare occasions," The boss said "and we are taking a risk with you."

The men walked away from me, I stood up and followed. There weren't any kids of my age group there maybe 20-30 year olds. The gang went inside the woods I hesitated for a while but then followed; I'd much rather be in there with them then out here alone. I took a deep breath, the smell of death filled my lungs, the deeper I went into the woods the stronger the scent was.

I heard a sound behind me, I spun around quickly but saw nothing; a while later It happened again; I was beginning to get agitated. They had all come to a halt; I bumped into the man in front of me but he didn't feel it. Some shovels were being passed down the line.

"Take it." The man in front of me threw me a shovel.

The gang started to dig; the gang leader gave me the signal to dig too. I didn't know what we were digging for. We were out in the woods for an hour and I did not like it, not one bit at all. I threw my shovel on the ground and sat on the log behind me.

"What do you think you're doing?" the leader said to me.

"Uh... Taking' a rest, what does it look like I'm doing?" I stayed put.

"Get the heck up!" he yelled grabbed onto my collar and picked me up.

"What do you think i am? A scavenger, some sort of pirate! I'm out, you can go dig for your treasure without me." The only reason I joined this gang was because my brother was in it; but he died an unforgettable death and his murder case was left unsolved. I walked away into the direction we had come from.
