Gon awoke the next morning to the warm sun shining in through his window. It was a nice way to wake up, in fact, he preferred to wake up with the sun. Rubbing away the sleep in his eyes, he rolled over onto his side to find Killua wasn't lying there.
Noticing this, Gon straightened up and looked around the room. His scan end with his eyes landing on his door being slightly cracked open. Realizing that Killua must've left the room at some point in the morning, Gon decided to get on with his morning routine. Today was going to be a pretty lazy day anyways, just him packing and getting some last goodbyes out of the way.
Getting up from his bed, Gon stretched and made his way out of his room, slowly making his way down the stairs and rounding into the kitchen, where he found Killua sitting on the counter, his little pink nose resting on the edge of a book he had laid out in front of him, eyes shifting across the pages. The book seemed to be one of Kurapika's, seeing as it was well worn down and Kurapika was the only avid reader within the household.
"Morning," Gon yawned out, making his way over to the pantry where he began to look for something quick to eat.
Killua only nodded in response before he moved his head back and flipped the page with his paw — which took a few attempts.
"So," Gon began, taking out the coffee grounds and a bundled of bread, along with peanut butter. "Do you plan on staying here?"
It was a question that Gon had been avoiding for a while, having found himself worried that Killua may not want to continue journeying with Gon. It had built up a nervous sensation within Gon for a while, but he continued to avoid it. Maybe in his tired haze, or because seeing the concern on Killua's face last night, just because of a dream, maybe that had given him the courage to ask.
Killua stopped reading, looking over to Gon, who was now putting the bread into the toaster and scooping coffee grounds into the coffee machine. "Well," he paused, paw sliding off of the books page to lay beside the other. "Do you want me to go with you?"
Gon turned his head to make direct eye contact with Killua, those blue eyes piercing into him as if trying to read him like the book in front of his small, white, frame.
"Only if you want to come with me."
Killua seemed to be pleased with that answer, his head looking back down at his book, shifting to lay back down on the counter. "I am your familiar, so I'd like to come."
Gon's face lit up, his honey eyes glowing with happiness as he turned back to his toast — which had finally popped up from the toaster. "Good! We're going to leave tomorrow. There's a job I have to do."
"Sounds like fun." Killua flipped the page again and returned to focusing on reading the book.
Gon placed his toast on a plate, putting on the peanut butter and pouring the coffee into a mug before he rounded the island and sat down next to where Killua was situated with his book. He split one of the pieces of toast in half and set it down on a napkin before pushing it over to Killua.
Killua looked up from the book, once again, and looked over at Gon graciously. "Thanks."
"No problem."

Gon was beginning to pack up his stuff, clothes getting shoved into his backpack and the remaining ones he didn't use as much going into his small, singular, suitcase. The rest of his possessions were moved into the suitcase as well. He continued to pack, putting the spellbook into his backpack, and his laptop getting set into his suitcase.
Most of his things had been packed up and the only remaining things were his wand and the crystal ball, which was situated beside Killua, who'd been lazily watching Gon pack the whole time.
