Shauna's POV

I walk in to my new dorm room. The walks are a light pink and there are two beds. I glance over my right shoulder and see a girl with long, brown hair standing there.
"I'm Lauren," she says. "And you?" Lauren smiles and waits for me to answer.
"Shauna," I say. Lauren continues to unpack her things and I decide to do the same with mine.

I pull my suitcase into the small room and then bring in my two carry on bags. I set my purse down on the floor and start to make my bed.
"What's your major?" Lauren asks me.

"I want to be a nurse," I say. Lauren nods and puts on her jacket.

"Let's go," she says.

"Go where-"

"To a bar. We can get a few drinks and then order a pizza later." Lauren seems to have everything planned out.

"I just met you," I say. "There's no way I'm fixing to go to a bar with you. Plus, I'm not even halfway done un-packing and classes begin tomorrow." I look at Lauren and she snorts.

"Shauna you're going to have to learn to let loose. This is college sweetheart." Lauren smirks and opens the door. "Are you coming?" she asks.

I shouldn't go. It's my first night at college and I have a lot to do before tomorrow. I guess that I won't get into any trouble if I be careful. "Yes," I answer. "Just let me get ready real quick." Lauren stands at the door and waits while I fix my hair. I let it flow down into its natural waves. I touch up my makeup and grab my light jacket out of my suitcase. I nod to let Lauren know that I'm ready and we leave the dorm. Walking down the halls, I see other students.
Lauren and I walk out of the huge building filled with dorm rooms and we walk down the street. Chicago is a busy place at night. Cars honk and their bright lights almost make me blind. It's pitch black outside, but the city lights light up the town. We soon arrive downtown and there are boutiques, pizza places, and of course, bars. Lauren goes into a fairly populated bar and I follow her. There's a football game on a few televisions and music is playing from speakers in the ceiling. It's loud and dark. Lauren sits in a chair at a table and I sit beside her. She orders a budlight and I order nothing. I don't want to get drunk. Three boys come and join us at the table. One of them, I think he said his name was Eric, flirts with Lauren. She flirts back and they soon walk outside together.

The other boy looks at me. He has gorgeous brown eyes and dark brown hair.
"You're cute," he smirks. He's drunk.
I stand up and try to leave but he grabs my wrist. I accidentally gasp and I look back at him. He's still got a smirk on his face.
"Give me your digits," he laughs.

"What? No." I jerk my wrist away from him, but he stands.

"C'mon," he tries to urge me.

"Leave me alone you freak!" I blurt the words in his face and he seems shocked. I run out of the bar and he follows me. Now outside, I turn around and see his face. He's really hot. I should be trying to hook up with this dude, but he's a complete idiot.

"Do you know who I am?" he asks me.

I shake my head no.

He smirks. "Do you want to go back to my place?"

"Are you crazy?! NO!" I scream at him and look around frantically for Lauren. She's standing in the corner of the building making out with Eric.

"You're gonna regret this," he says. The boy sighs and smiles. "I'll see you around then?"

I nod awkwardly. Yeah I totally want to see you again. (Note the sarcasm) I begin to walk away, but he speaks again. I don't turn around when he does.
"I didn't catch your name," he says.

I turn around and stare into his eyes. "I didn't catch yours either," I say back.

He smirks and answers me. "Zeke." Zeke waits for me to tell him my name.

I nod and do probably the most stupidest thing ever, I say my name. "Shauna."

Zeke smiles and he's still holding a beer from inside the bar. He goes back inside the bar and I go back to the dorm.

I unpack my stuff and look at the clock. It's midnight. Lauren probably went to that Eric dudes house. I can tell that she's going to be a lot of trouble. I think again of what happened tonight. Lauren went outside with Eric and she left me with Zeke and the other boy. The other boy, whose name I never found out, just seemed like a tag along. He was tall and muscular, but he seemed quiet and shy. Zeke seemed full of himself. He must apparently be popular because of the way he acts. I hate Zeke. Maybe I'll never have to see him again. I lay in bed and decide to get some rest because classes start tomorrow. Falling asleep, I think of how great a year this is going to be-not.
