Woo! Happy New Year! Fellow Otakus! Autre here with another rant.

Sooooooo. How was your holiday? Full of gifts and laughter I assume? And of course filled with anime? *wink* and of course, like how I curse the existence of stupid and thoughtless gifts, I also curse a few things about anime.

Let me explain.

Have you ever been lost after finishing an anime? Not knowing what to do with life, then all of a sudden, Anime Jesus slaps your face, and your head turns so hard it almost snapps and bingo dingo! There it is! A new anime is facing your direction and it truly is godsend. From the animation to the soundtrack! AH! ECSTACY!

No insult, no thesis, no scolding, no chore, no scars, not a damn motherfucking thing in the world can ever get you down as long as you have that anime to watch before you go to sleep. *day dreams* *fixes glasses* Ahh! Nothing like a good anime before going to sleep.

Even better! That damn anime is 25 episodes long! AHHHHHHH! But then 20 episodes pass by and it covers two major plot points and your siting there, okay Mr. New savior anime sir. How about the last five episodes? Fillers right? Some badass side story to send off the first season? Episodes dedicated to side character back stories right? I fucking love those! Looking forward to it Mr. New Savior Anime.

FUCK NO! ARE YOU KIDDING?! SIDE STORY? PSSH, THE FUCK IS THAT? HEY I GOT AN IDEA! HERE’S ANOTHER MAJOR PLOT POINT!

Wait, what?

You’re like down to five episodes and you throw in a major plot point?

WELL YEAH! EVER HEARD OF SEASON CLIFFHANGERS!? CHA CHING! MORE VIEWERS BITCHES

Uhm, no Mr. New anime savior sir, that’s not how it works. IF YOU”RE GOING TO THROW IN A MAJOR PLOT POINT, WHAT’S THE DAMN POINT OF CRAMMING IT INTO FIVE EPISODES?

The season was perfect for crying out loud! Why not just stop at the last plot point? Now you’re going to make us wait a full year or two for the continuation? Over hyping the marketing in the process and eventually shitting on the sequel for false expectation because it can barely keep up with the glamour of the first season or not being able to live up to its potential *cough* SAO II *cough*

Why must anime producers torment me so… Money over quality #REALTALK

Log Horizon season 1, Kuroko no Basket 1, Highschool DxD season 2 are just a few example of what I’m talking about, and I guess filler heavy anime can also be considered in this rant, speaking of filler heavy anime *cough* Bleach *cough* where’s my quincy arc? Hiatus my ass.
