"Roman?" Virgil sat there staring at the mess before him with a curious look. Ro's been stuck to his side since he was let out of the infirmary. Not that Virgil minded it much, but... he was concerned. "Roman, what is all this?"
"Well... I couldn't really do much but..." Roman was clearly a ball of nerves as he rushed over to this tray of cookies and beamed. "Here." He forcibly held them out making Virgil laugh at all the energy the other had. "Try it. I'm not as good as Patton but... he was supervising so... I don't know."
"Wait." Virgil smiled as he took a cookie only to see Roman's eyes light up. "You made these?"
"Well, yea." Roman smiled fondly as he placed the tray back down and sat beside the other. "I thought... Well... I figure our first date should have something better than crappy cafe food..." Virgil's eyes shot wide with shock as Roman chuckled a bit. "Don't you think?"
"Our first..." Virgil's eyes glanced back over to the mess as tears welled up in his eyes. "This... is a date."
"The first of many. I hope anyway." Roman laughed anxiously before taking a deep breath and standing back up only to falter feeling Virgil take his hand. "Yes?"
"Just... Stay. Stay here with me... please?" Roman slowly sat back down as the tears started to fall from Virgil's eyes. "You all saw. Didn't you?"
"Saw what?" Virgil frowned as Roman sighed and nodded. "Yes, we saw. Remus freaked out. I... I freaked out... just in a different way."
"So... is this date because of that?" Roman frowned as Virgil smiled sadly. "Because if it is I don't..."
"Virgil, I just want to give you one moment of peace. I wanted to give you something to be happy about... something... to maybe look back on." Virgil shook his head as he curled up into himself. "Virgil..."
"Nothing is ever going to change." Roman froze up as Virgil shook his head again as he cried. "Nothing is going to get better. Roman... He wants me to be this perfect fucking soldier. He wants me to hurt people. To hurt... good innocent people. I'm a mercenary for hire... I can't do that. I can't."
"You don't have to." Virgil scoffed as he wiped his tears away.
"If I don't then..."
"Virgil, we'll get you out of here." Virgil froze up as Roman took his hand. "All of us... the whole group. Logan said he still has some accounts open. Janus said he had a safe house no one should've been able to find. We can get you far away from here."
"You can't escape contact. Are you guy insane? Marcos isn't just going to let me go. He isn't going to let ANYONE go." Virgil shook as his eyes filled with horror. "Besides, there is no escape. Too many guards. Too many ways, things can go wrong. He'll catch you. You'll all get caught. He'll kill you for just thinking about it. PLEASE DON'T..."
"Virgil, it's going to be ok." Roman turned Virgil's face to make him look at him as he smiled. "We won't do a thing without being sure about it all. We are crazy yes..." Roman chuckled a bit as he wiped Virgil tears away. "...but we aren't stupid. We will get you out of here. We just... we need a starting point."
"K-Key..." Roman's eyes narrowed in confusion as Virgil's eyes slowly started to drop. "I have a key." Virgil's eyes traced Roman's facial features as his heart started to race. "I... I stole the key to the cells."
"So if we can manage to get in... we can get you out of there." Virgil nodded as his eyes slowly made it to his way to Roman's lips. Roman, of course, noticed his gaze had... changed and frowned. "Virgil?" Virgil's eyes immediately shot back up to his eyes with a slight blush. "Virgil, I..."
"What exactly is your touch Roman?" Roman moved away putting some distance between them as his hand shook. "Ro?"
"I can't. Virgil. I just can't. I'm sorry." Virgil slowly got to his feet all while Roman paced. "I'm sorry. I just can't do it, Virgil. I can't. I..."
"Roman, what is your touch?" Roman tensed up as he turned around to find Virgil really close to him. "I want to know what I'm getting myself into."
"Virgil, please. I can't..."
"I told you mine." Virgil smiled as he carefully started to remove his gloves. "And... right now with everything going on... I have about as much control as anyone else." Roman's eyes teared up as he just shook his head. "It's ok, Roman. I won't judge."
"Virgil..." Virgil started to reach out making Roman panic. "I make people love me." Virgil froze up, his eyes going wide as his hand dropped. "I... I don't understand it but... I can make people... feel for me or... I don't know. I never dug into my touch Virgil. I just know that I can make people care about me... I can... I make you... you want to..." Virgil's eyes shined with understanding as Roman cried. "That why I was... accused. It's my fault. I..."
"Just because you can doesn't mean you did." Roman froze in shock as Virgil laughed. "You weren't charged. There wasn't even any legal action against you Ro. Rumors... that's all there was."
"Even still. Virgil with one touch I could force you into doing something don't want to do." Virgil just smiled as he moved in closer wrapping his arms loosely around the man. "V-Virgil..."
"I trust you, Roman." Virgil sighed happily as he inched even closer. "I know you won't push for anything. I trust you. I..." Virgil's lips met with Roman's and it was like this spark deep in him, a shiver down his spine. Virgil pressed harder into Roman as his body craved to be closer. "Ro..." He was breathless but desperate. Roman kissed back almost instantly, his hands going to Virgil's hair as the two slammed into the wall. A subtle buzz of anxiety burned through him as the two got a close as they could. "R-Roman..." Virgil bit the others lip practically begging as his hands traveled. Roman let out a broken but relief filled laughed as he the two kissed like it was last they ever would. Virgil started for the other's shirt only for Roman to immediately grab his hands and stop him. "Please? Roman I..."
"You only want it... because I do." Virgil pressed in against him making Roman gasp slightly but his grip never lessened. "It's ok Virgil. It's ok." Roman kissed the man's neck making Virgil shudder in his arms. "We don't have to do anything Virgil. You don't have to do anything."
"Roman?" Roman hummed as he led Virgil back to the bed with a soft smile. "I... I want... I..." Roman could see how dilated and dazed Virgil's eyes were. He was flushed and out of breath but it didn't stop him from moving to sit on top of Roman as they sat on the bed. "I want you."
"No, you don't." Roman laughed softly as Virgil leaned in to kiss his jawline. "But that ok, Virgil."
"I... I-I... R-Ro?" Roman kissed Virgil one last time before spinning them around laying Virgil down on the bed. "Roman?"
"I'm right here, Virgil." Roman laid beside him trailing his fingers through his hair as the two just stared into each other's eyes. One thing Roman did know about his touch... it had a lasting effect. Virgil wouldn't be out from under it until the morning. However, as long as they weren't touching the whole 'do whatever Roman wants' thing doesn't work. "I'm not going anywhere."
"I love you." Roman's face fell as Virgil cuddled up into him. "I love you, Roman."
"Repeat that in the morning Love... but for now. Sleep."
