I wake up alone once again in Taehyung's bed. Yet another day in paradise - note the sarcasm. The faint smell of food circulates the room, instantly making my stomach growl in hunger. In an instant I'm on my feet and following the trail down to the kitchen in search for food but when I get there the kitchen is empty. Sighing heavily to myself, I reach for the loaf of bread on the side since it was clear no one else had taken the time to make breakfast for me."I see you've helped yourself to our food," Jin speaks from behind me. I turn with my cheeks puffed out, as a result of the large bite of toast I had just taken. "Sorry," I mumble, a few crumbs falling out my mouth. Jin grimaces, walking over to my toast and throwing the rest of it in the bin. "Taehyung needs to see you," he murmurs as I shoot annoyed glares his way.
"Tell him he can fuck off," I shout angrily. I couldn't believe he had the nerve to touch my food. No one touches my food. I turn on my heel, making my way back up to Taehyung's room but I'm stopped as Jin grabs my arm from behind me. "Get off me!" I shout and scream as he drags me down the hallway to the meeting room I'd become accustomed to. I don't stop my screaming until he pulls me into the room where I'm faced with the other 6 members who stare over me with blank expressions.
"By all the commotion I'm going to assume once again you didn't do as you were told," Taehyung lifts an eyebrow as Jin shoves me down in to the seat between them. I keep my mouth shut and eyes glued down at the table in front of me. He wasn't going to get a rise out of me today, I was hungry, tired and annoyed, all of which being his fault. "I'll carry on then, unless you have anything else you want to get out your system?" Taehyung places a finger under my chin, lifting it to face him. I pull back, detaching myself from him. "Fine, I'll take that as a no," he retorts, side-glancing at me before continuing, "we've had to push forward our operation to today. Lee is getting ready to move and we can't afford to lose them again."
"We haven't had enough time to prepare. Last time we tried to get into their warehouse you almost came back in a body bag," Jimin voices from the other side of the table. There are a few nods of agreement from the others.
"That's why it won't be me going in," Taehyung smiles, receiving a few vague looks of confusion from the others, including me. "So who is?" Hobi voices what everyone else is thinking. Taehyung doesn't respond but his eyes find mine and I'm certain he can see the worry that immediately fills them. The others grasp what he is trying to say.
"She can't go, it's too dangerous," Namjoon stands up from his seat opposite me. He looks down at me with what I can only describe as guilt. I can feel tears pricking at my eyes which threatened to spill out at any moment. I was going to die, this was his plan all along.
"She is," Taehyung declares in response. Murmurs and whispers fill the empty silence as Namjoon and Taehyung stare at each other. I want to get up and run and I almost find the courage to, but my mind seems to have lost all connection with my body as I remain seated in my chair. Jungkook's teeth are gritted and his fists are clenched sending his knuckles white.
"I agree with Namjoon. It's too dangerous, there is no way she'll make it out alive," Yoongi interrupts the staring match between the two males. "She's not going to die," Taehyung yells across the table, "She is more than capable of doing what I want her to do." I manage to meet Taehyung's eyes and that's when it hits me, that this man was pure evil. He doesn't just hurt others but takes pride in the torment he causes.
"Tae, she's crying," Hoseok speaks softly. I hadn't been able to stop the tears falling from my eyes this time. Everyone turns their head to look at me as I sniffle and attempt to hide my sobs.
"We haven't got all day to sit around and mope, now get up and do as instructed," Taehyung shouts angrily. Immediately the guys jump up from their sets and scurry off to prepare for the operation. I remain seated burying my head in my hands. "That means you too, Hanna," Taehyung strides over to where I'm sat. He gently pulls at the strands of hair that had become stuck to my face due to the tears. My bloodshot eyes find his as he looks down at me with an unreadable expression. Sighing heavily, he wipes the salty tears from my face with the sleeve of his shirt. His face is just centimetres from mine, an uncomfortably close distance. He seems to lean in but then stops when I lean back. His head drops slightly before he guides me up from my chair and leads me out of the room.
He takes me to my room, closing the door firmly behind us. "I'll send someone to get you prepared for today so you need to pull yourself together," he speaks as he draws the curtains open, filling the room with a golden glow. I nod my head lightly, the tears beginning to finally subside. Taehyung studies my blotchy face for a second before making his way into the bathroom. He emerges some time after with a packet of tissues. Throwing them on the bed beside me he leaves the room without another word. I use the soft tissues to wipe the remaining trails of wetness from my eyes. I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror. My eyes are red and sore and my nose has turned a rose pink.
"Can I come in?" A voice shouts through the door. "Yeah," I shout back despite my voice cracking. Namjoon peers around the door before entering the room, closing the door behind him.
"Taehyung asked me to bring this up to you," he holds out a water bottle in front of me. Skeptically I take it from him, unscrewing the cap and taking a long gulp. "Why does he care all of a sudden?" I question with an eyebrow raised. Namjoon simply shrugs in response. "This is also for you," he hands me a small plastic object I'd never seen before. "What is it?" I question.
"It's an earpiece, so we can keep in contact with you," he smiles. I was glad I would be receiving some kind of guidance during all of this but an earpiece wasn't going to stop me getting killed.
"Hey don't worry too much. We need you to come out alive," Namjoon reassures me, noticing my anxious expression. I can't help thinking Namjoon's words sound somewhat similar to what Jungkook had said to me. Taehyung needs me.
"Why would I be worried? What's there to be worried about?" I remark sarcastically. He smirks a little at my comment, before beckoning me to follow him out the room, "come on, the others are waiting." I follow him downstairs to the same basement I'd trained in with Yoongi the other day.
"Good, you're finally here. Take this," Jin tosses me a gun as soon as I step in the room. I quickly reach out both hands to catch the gun as it comes hurtling towards me. Miraculously I catch it between my hands. I couldn't stop a small, proud smile making its way on to my face due to my new found athletic ability. It doesn't last long as Taehyung enters the room with the others following closely behind. I notice they all also have earpieces fitted into their ear. Taehyung swiftly made his way beside me before taking my wrist in his hand and fastening what looks like a watch around it. I look up confused at his concentrated face.
"It's a GPS tracker. So for whatever reason you go missing, I can and will find you," he smiles. I gulp, anxiously biting my lower lip, honestly going missing didn't sound like a bad idea. "Everything set?" he shouts over at Namjoon who is typing furiously away at a computer in the corner of the room.
"Yes, boss," he responds as the others grab large, black duffel bags off of the shelves. Everyone is dressed head to toe in black, guns and knives strapped to their waists like they are accessories. "Let's get going then," Taehyung leaves the room, an indirect signal to follow after him. One by one we file out of the room making our way outside to the cars that await us.
"You okay?" Jungkook asks quietly as we walk side by side. "I've been better," I deadpan, keeping my eyes trained in front of me. Before Jungkook can respond I join Taehyung in the backseat of the first car as the others get in the cars behind. Without command the driver pulls away to what looks like my inevitable death. I take a long look at the house wondering if this would be the last time I see it.
Taehyung flicks through something on his phone as he is sat beside me. I try and get a discrete look at his screen but he has it deliberately angled so I would struggle to see anything. We sit in a silence that isn't awkward but rather uncomfortable. All of sudden the watch on my wrist plays a deafening alarm sound, making me jump in the process. After a few seconds it turns itself off. I look over at Taehyung who is wholeheartedly laughing to himself. "Just testing it," he continues to laugh. I shoot him a death stare before turning to look out the window.
We come to stop in what I would describe as the middle of nowhere. Nothing but fields stretch for miles and the road is built from rocks and stones. "This is it?" I ask as Taehyung unbuckles his seatbelt.
"Of course it's not. Do you really think we are just going to drive up and hope they'll let us in. Use them few brain cells of yours for once please," Taehyung rolled his eyes getting out the car and shutting the door in my face. I mutter a string of curses under my breath as I get out the car.
"This way," Hobi leads us through numerous fields, until in the distance I can make out the outline of a tall, seemingly derelict building. It was unimpressive considering it was the base of a notorious mafia gang. Most of the windows on the building have been smashed but since boarded up.
