"The chip we need is located in the centre of the building. We'll direct you to it through the earpiece." Nerves took over my body as this was all becoming way too real. This was actually happening. There was a quiet beeping sound in my ear from the earpiece followed by static. "Can you hear me Hanna?" Namjoon's voice flowed out the earpiece. I nod my head. "Great, it works. From now on everything you say we can hear too," he smiles. I didn't like the idea of that."Is she set?" Taehyung questioned while carefully placing a small blade in my back pocket. "Good to go," Namjoon gave a thumbs up. Taehyung nodded before taking my hand in his and leading me round to the back of the warehouse where there was a small opening into the building. I assumed it was my way in.
"Listen to me Hanna. We need you to follow absolutely everything we say. It's your best chance of coming back alive," Taehyung spoke quietly into my ear. I was reluctant to start an argument with him here so I idly agree despite knowing it wasn't the truth. He places a hand on my lower back pushing me down to the ground so I'm on my hands and knees in the mud. Looking back at Taehyung one last time I start crawling through the small opening, feeling the long grass and concrete scratch at my knees. Inside the warehouse it was dark, the only source of light were the bright flood lights that hung from the ceiling. Rows and rows of metal containers were stacked on top of each other. The air was damp and musty and the concrete ground cold to the touch.
"Are you going to tell me where I'm supposed to be going then," I spoke impatiently as I got up from the ground. I wanted this over and done with as fast as possible.
"Okay so you need to make a right," Namjoon spoke through the earpiece. I follow Namjoon's instructions, keeping a close proximity to the wall. At the moment the placed seemed empty but I knew that was far from the case. "Once you get to the end of the row enter the second door on the left. Don't worry, the room is empty."
"How do you know it's empty?" I turn the corner into an empty corridor, hurrying over to the second door. I place my hand on the door handle but hesitate to open it. "We hacked into the CCTV." I trust Namjoon's words and slowly twist the handle, peering around the edge of it. The room was empty. I let out a sigh of relief, before closing the door carefully behind me, ensuring I didn't make any unnecessary noise. The room's walls were painted a stark white in contrast to the grey concrete flooring. Cardboard boxes stacked themselves up against the wall and the only furniture in the room was a small wooden table with two chairs situated on either side of it.
"Shit, Hanna you need to hide," Namjoon spoke quickly with a hint of worry behind his words. I panic, looking at the incredibly limited hiding places in the room.
"Where!" I whisper shout back. With just moments to spare I jump into one of the cardboard boxes. I hear the door click open followed by male voices. I can't make out what they are saying due to the deafening sound of my own heartbeat. I take small, shallow breaths while my eyes are squeezed tightly shut. "Don't move an inch," I hear Taehyung instruct through the earpiece. I stay still as footsteps echo around the small room and their voices go back and forth. Seconds turn to minutes as I feel my leg begin to cramp up. It seems like hours until they finally leave and I instantly jump out of the box. "Good, now go through the door on the left," Taehyung orders.
"Can you give me a fucking second," I shout louder than I should have.
"Hey, I don't care how angry you are, you need to keep your voice down," Namjoon scolds. I take a deep breath, running a hand through my hair. "I know," I murmur. I leave the room, following Taehyung's directions. Once again I'm greeted by an empty corridor.
