Still, with the days counting down to dad's return, Levi grows restless.

His usual cleaning habits have died down a bit, but his pissy behaviour has escalated.

Hence, I have the privilege of taking refuge at Annie's.

For a few hours now, she has allowed us to use her phone to listen to music, while she flips through pages of her tattered textbook.

She arches a brow, "Do you have any homework?"

I stare at my doodle, "Yes and no."

She releases a frustrated sigh, "I need to finish this module." She stretches her shorter arms and ties her hair into a bun.

"Thais," Her father opens the door, "You'll need to go home soon. Annie has martial arts."

I nod, "Yes, Mr.Leonhart." I turn and pack my things away.

As I leave to head back home, Annie waits by the door. "See you at school." Her lips slightly quirk upward.

"Yep, Annie." So I leave into the crisp winds of supposed spring.

When I make my way few blocks down and up the ramp, I hear the low music of the bass.

As I open the door, the dogs Millie and Ollie greet me with their tails tucked in.

Thin sheets of paper line the wooden floors, and Levi turns with paint coating a canvas before him. "What?" He dryly asks.

"Is this what you're working on?" I ask in return.

He scoffs, "Yes, and on the counter, Erwin somehow instructed me of printing off an email." The paintbrush he gestures with continues his sharp strokes against the staggering lines behind.

Who knows what he's working on, but at least I don't have to deal with him getting pissed at technology.

My bag drops to the ground and I pick up the paper. Anxiety swells in my chest as I begin to read.

The words visit this break and meet family draws my attention. "This spring break...?" I look up to face Levi.

"Yes, Erwin has set this up. Since you have shown interest."

I frown at those words, "No I have not! I am still not sure about this!"

Across, he shrugs, "Talk to your dad, not me."

Ripping through my bag, I dial dad's number, and it begins to ring.
