After waking up in an abandoned library with no recall of their past, young Y/n tries their hardest to figure out who they are by reading.
But not without encountering a group of strange men.
(Rewrite of 'The Biggest Family')
The Host stood by your side as he introduced you to kitty, turns out his name was Marvin, or as he would say it Marvin the Magnificent. The supposed best magician in the world, of course, you wouldn't doubt it with the magic skills he demonstrated during the fight, you internally shivered.
The fight, you never wanted to witness that again. That odd and frighteningly familiar vision too. You didn't know who those two guys were, nothing in your mind had any memory recalling them. Yet, for some strange reason, you were somewhat familiar to them, like they were friends once, it was strangely nostalgic.
You didn't know if you should tell Host or not, or did he already know? He did narrate all your actions, why wasn't he showing that he knew? Was there something wrong with you?
You twitched, breaking your train of thought to stare at the magician, he was monologuing about something, what was it, again? You didn't know, that was worrisome, what if he asked you a question and you don't even know the answer because you weren't listening?
His gaze suddenly turned to you. "So, what do ya' think?"
Panic.
You blinked, opening your mouth, should you just tell him that you didn't hear him? Will that come off as rude to Marvin? You didn't know him that well to know.
Risk it for the biscuit, the magic biscuit that could send you flying through the wall.
"Uh, c-can you repeat that? I-I didn't hear you." You said shakily.
Marvin blinked, pausing for a few seconds before grinning. "Sure! I, Marvin the Magnificent, the best magician with the greatest fashion taste in the world, asked you, yes, you if wanted to come with me into the great mythical forest and track some fucking magical cat ghost!"
It took you a long time to register what he said but, it eventually came to your head that he wanted you to track cat ghosts.
Yes, he wanted you to track cat ghosts.
The Host beside you lightly chuckled before continuing his constant narration.
You couldn't disagree with that, it had everything you needed, getting away from Dark, getting out this house, and finding cat ghost with your, now two favorite people in the world.
The Host was already your favorite but, now that you familiarized yourself with Marvin, it was now two very special people!
"S-sure that sounds really cool!" You responded with a small smile.
Marvin's grin grew, showing off his extremely sharp canines. "Great, I can get us there in a minute if you answer three questions!"
Your smile faltered, you hope it wasn't anything hard, and what about the Host? Shouldn't he answer questions as well? Was he trying to trick you? You nervously shifted, deciding to ask,
"What about the Host? Shouldn't he answer the questions as well?"
Marvin chuckled. "The Host already answered the questions awhile back!"
Your suspicion vanished that made sense, your smile grew, causing the cat-wearing mask male's turquoise eyes to brighten.
"Oh, thank you! So, what're the questions?"
Marvin stuck up three fingers. "One, what's your favorite animal? Two, favorite color? Three, what do you like doing the most?"
Your eyebrow raised, were those seriously the questions? You expected riddles or something more interesting than that! These were simple and easy questions that anybody could answer, why did he even need to know this?
"Uh, my favorite animal is f/a, favorite color is f/c, and what I like to do? Um, I-I guess it's reading." You didn't know what you liked to do, you don't remember anything specific besides reading in the abandoned library, you liked staying away from Dark even if that failed.
Marvin nodded, clapping his hands together, his cape floating behind him, smugly grinning. "Perfect! Exactly what I predicted, now, let's find those fucking ghost cats!"
You didn't have a chance to react before your vision went white, and you found yourself in the middle of a forest, Marvin and the Host standing in front of you.
The forest was gorgeous, the trees were bright vibrant greens, blues, and purples, some were even yellow with long vines that spread across the forest floor, the grass having a blueish tint. You noticed the trees had large purple fruits that resembled apples. Your mouth watered, the fruit looked delicious, you could already taste the sweet juices.
Marvin noticed your look and laughed, making his way to your side. "Hey, you better not be thinking of eating that fruit! That's just wishing for death, you want the pink ones, not the purple ones! The purple ones are extremely deadly and will most likely drain you of your life energy and grow into a big beautiful tree! The pink ones, on the other hand, are great for cake and the leaves are amazing for tea- if you like sweet tea of course. They're also great for good dreams if you have nightmares on a daily occasion."
You blinked, that was a lot of information to take in, and you loved it! This place was amazing! You wanted to learn everything about it! From the trees to the creatures that live here! Everything! You grinned, you wanted to try those pink apples and see ghost cats!
Marvin's grin somehow grew as he snapped his fingers, a green and gold flame sprouting from his palm and fingertips. White flecks hid in the beautiful flame.
You stared in awe, your mouth agape.
Marvin playfully rolled his eyes, putting his hand on your shoulder. "What do you see inside the flame, anything interesting?"
You realized that you saw your name! Y/n! Your name was curving with the flame, somehow, making it even more beautiful than it already was!
You grinned, you grinned so hard it hurt. Pure Europhobia spread over your body.
You didn't even notice the ghostly shape of cats surrounding you or the Host smiling melancholy, not even Marvin who was speaking towards you.
