With time, Adonis was getting better and healing. It was a slow grueling process but it was one that made him the most vulnerable. He felt guilty and responsible for having Bria's first pregnancy be all about him and it was exhausting to watch her be unexcited for her first birth. He wanted to do something special for her because she absolutely deserved the world and more. So in secret, with the help of Sandra, he helped plan a baby shower for her. She was oblivious to all of the planning that he had been doing behind her back and that was the way he liked it.
"How are you feeling?" Adonis' primary physician asked him after a full six weeks of healing in his gauzes would finally be taken off.
"I feel a little stiff but better than I have been when I first saw you a few weeks ago." Adonis replies, looking at his girlfriend who was sitting across the room with him for support during his appointment.
The doctor nods and takes down notes, of his patients notes. "That's expected, Im going to prescribe to you some muscle relaxers to help ease away some of that stiffness."
"Any pain or soreness?" The doctor asks.
"Just a little bit sore but it's doable. I'm able to walk around now and it doesn't hurt when I get up thanks with the help of my girlfriend who just so happens to be a physical therapist. I wouldn't be where I am today without her." Adonis praises her and looks to her with admiration.
Bria faintly smiles and places her hand on her stomach to try to calm some of her nerves down. She needed sleep, and was trying to keep herself awake long enough so she wouldn't knock out in this chair.
The doctor smiles at his response and looks over his x rays from earlier to see how his bones healed and nodded. "Your x rays look great, you can be taken out of your gauzes and since you're up and moving again. These prescriptions should also help along with your physical therapy, which I recommend be taken two to three days a week to get you back up to speed."
"Do you have any questions for me?"
"When could he start training for another fight?" Bria asked him.
"As soon as he's completely healed and comfortable enough to be in the ring again. I wouldn't rush it though, you just sustained a big hit to your ribs. But you'll be back in the ring in no time." The doctor reassured as she got up to let him get changed back into his regular clothes.
"I'm going to let you get changed and once you're finished we can set up your next appointment. If you have any other questions outside of the office please feel free to call me." The doctor said with a polite smile before leaving the room.
As Adonis got up, he walked over to where Bria was and picked up his clothes so he could change back into his regular attire, which consisted of blue distressed blue jeans and a green fitted sweater.
"Hey, you okay?" Bria asks her boyfriend, noticing the sadness in his eyes when he started to put on his clothes.
"I'm fine." He responds, pulling his sweater over his head.
"I know that's a damn lie." Bria replies, knowing that something was bothering him and he was just trying to cover up for it. "I know when you're upset baby, just please talk to me." Bria says, trying to comfort him. She then slowly gets up to meet him halfway where he stood in the middle of the hospital room. She then places her hands on his cheeks and peers deeply into his soul. "I know It's been hard on you and it's been hard on all of us...your friends and your family, we care about you. But you've been really distant towards me lately and it's starting to make me feel like I'm in this alone, like I'm by myself in this." She sighs watching him uncomfortably shift away before backing out of her grasp.
