"So, I was thinking when we get back how about we take a nice long vacation up until Christmas to get away from everything, from everybody since you're on your off season now and you and I just got a pretty nice check." Bria suggested with a smile on her face as she tied her scarf around her hair so it could still be pressed the following morning.

Adonis sat by his bedside half listening to what she had to say. He was tired and emotionally drained after dealing with his mother. He typed away on his phone, responding back to a few messages from Terrence and Joe. Now that Bria's scarf was tied around her hair, her scars along her neck and back were visible which pained Adonis to look at every time he saw them. He distracted himself as he half watched her graze her fingers along her collar bone as she drifted off into thought. She turned her head sideways to check her four inch gash under her ear, which was still tender to the touch.

"What were you saying?" Adonis spoke up to get her attention.

"Hu?" She blinked rapidly, almost forgetting that she was in the middle of a conversation with Adonis.

"About vacation?"

"Oh, I just wanted to get away from everything...in complete total isolation from everyone...we've been working really hard and I haven't seen you in almost three months...I've missed you and we could bring Yara with us and since she's five months old now she should be fine to travel I mean it's not like we're flying commercial anyway..."

"You want to get away?"

Bria nodded.

"I have to go over my schedule with Terrence but it should still be okay to travel I mean wherever we go I can still do my training, workouts on my own. It also pays to have your girlfriend as a physical therapist as well." He faintly smiled.

A small smile crept on Bria's face as she walked over to where her boyfriend was and sat by her side of the bed to plug up her phone before climbing behind him on her knees to wrap her arms around his neck.

"You know, often times I hear you crying in your sleep..." Adonis spoke up. "I don't think you notice it but I often wonder if it's something that I've done or something that's resurfaced from your past that you keep locked away in your subconscious memory. I don't know what to do, to help you...when I look at your scars, it infuriates me to see that someone put their hands on you. You won't open up to me about your past but when you wake up in the middle of the night screaming for help it frightens me. All I can do is comfort you but I know that you need help, there's only so much that I can do." Adonis sighed, looking up at her as she backed away from him.

Bria covered up her scar by palming her neck and pulled the covers over her.

"I don't want to talk about it okay?" Bria quickly shot down.

"But-"

"Adonis I said enough!" Bria raised her voice.

Adonis nodded, leaning towards the nightstand to cut the light off. He then pulled the covers over himself trying not to be offended by the way she reacted but knew it was coming when bringing up her past.

"Babe I, I'm sorry I didn't mean to yell at you..." Bria sat up in bed, placing her hand on his bicep as he faced the opposite direction away from her. "I just don't want to talk about it," her eyes watered.

"I love you but please don't bring it up...I'll talk about it when I'm ready." She sighed. "Goodnight."

A FEW DAYS LATER

Bria smiles widely as she was handed her baby for the first time since she left for Moscow. Now back in the states, she was elated to be back at her fathers house with Adonis as they picked up their daughter Yara.
