The tall man was actually young, you could distinguish his muscles under his shirt, his body was a perfect balance of strength and grace. He had light hair with red, purple and blue hues, long enough to put it behind his ears. He was wearing costume pants and patent leather shoes. His hazel eyes looked right at the bartender as he walked gently closer to the counter, sat down and said confidently:
"Hi, I would like a Rhum with coke please"
Waverly stopped, looked at him in the eyes and answered more confidently:
"Hello, well, I would like your ID first, young men"
The boy's eyes showed panic for a few seconds, and he finally said:
"Hmm...Just a coke will be fine thank you... a DIET coke please, sorry, thank you.."
Waverly took the can out of the fridge and handed him the glass she just washed as she tried to control her breath and heartbeat, No way this guy is dangerous but why following someone's car all day? But before she could think further, the boy asked:
"So, hmm, have you been around here for a long time ?"
"All my life!" answered Waverly in a smile.
"I'm Nathan by the way" the boy held out his hand and Waverly shook it rapidly before answering:
"Waverly Gibson Haught!"
"I'm sorry, I haven't introduced earlier, it wasn't polite, the road was just really long and I couldn't rest today... Anyway, I'm just looking for someone, and I was hoping you could help me... please?" asked the stranger, surprised that the brunette's smile was that contagious. Waverly nodded. He kept going:
"It's a woman, her name is Nicole Rayleigh Haught, I think she is the town sheriff. Physically she is really tall with kinda long straight red hair, but she always put it in a braid cause she likes it practical"
"Ooof, unfortunately, I don't know anyone like this, and she quite looks like someone you can't miss..." Waverly didn't feel nervous, just all the more confused on what Nicole meant to this guy.
"Oh, I can miss everything if I lose myself too long in your beautiful eyes" Nathan stated way too confidently. Waverly moved back surprised by the hazel eyes trying to enter hers, she still said calmly while touching her face clearly with her engagement ring :
"And this, young men, is truly inappropriate"
The boy directly looked embarrassed and hardly mumbled:
"I'm sorry, I'm just kinda lost right now, just please, try to remember her, she is tough, kind and patient, she hates pickles, she has a little scar on her forehead because of one day at the lake when she tried to show her strength to her father, she had this cat, Calamity Jane, for the longest time..." Waverly was shocked and couldn't move a finger. "Look, I'm going, to be frank, I know you're her wife, your daughter's name is Julia, now please talk to me, anything could help, please!" as he raised his voice, Waverly could hear the emotion in his throat, she moved further back and simply said:
"Whoever you are, please go, now, it's enough" the brunette still wasn't afraid, she was just confident.
"No, please, you don't get it, I just need to talk to her" Nathan repeated.
"Then do" Nicole walked behind her wife and stood still next to the pool a few feet from the stranger.
"Oh...Nicole...I can't believe it!" a huge smile appeared on his face.
