The rain poured hard, harder than Roman had ever seen. Of course, he hadn't meant to get lost. He and his brother had travelled this way many times, but today, something was off. It seemed to get darker and darker the farther they walked. All of a sudden, a mansion appeared in the distance.

"You know what," Roman said, "There's a place up there, let's see if we can stay there. I never would usually do this, but there's no way we'll make it back before midnight."

They walked for around half an hour before reaching the buliding, which was old fashioned and huge. Remus, aka Roman's twin, and Remus' partner Logan looked at Roman unsurely. (Is that a word?)

Roman knocked on the large doors. "Hello? Is anyone there? Please, we need help!"

The door opened. Two men walked out. One had straight (hehe) dark brown hair, and a yellow vest on black clothes, and the other had blond, curly hair with a white vest on blue clothing.

"Oh," the man in blue gasped.

The man in yellow took over. "Do you need some assistance? Come in, come in." He lead the three inside. "Can I get you anything? Oh, sorry if I'm overwheming you."

"We haven't had guests in years!" The man in blue exclaimed. "Oh, how rude of me. I'm Patton Di'Angelo, and this is my husband, Dolon. Welcome to our place!"

"We'll let you stay here tonight, if you wish. But please be cautious of our other tenants." Dolon paused, almost as if he couldn't continue. "They're secretive, and don't take kindly to strangers. We can introduce you, if you'd like, although they might not be awake."

"We're good, thank you," Remus said, gesturing to himself and Logan. "If you wouldn't mind, could you show us to our room?"

"Of course," Patton said. "Follow me."

"I-If you don't mind," Roman started, "I'd love to meet the other tenants."

Dolon smirked. "Of course. Come this way."
The two began to walk down a small hall. "These two have been living here longer than I can remember, or at least one of them has. The other moved in a few months ago."

Their trek ended at a large door, which Dolon opened for Roman. In the room, there was two large glass boxes. Both contained what looked to be real people.

"Are they alive?!" Roman asked. "There doesn't seem to be any air holes..."

"The marionettes?" Dolon asked. "They don't need air holes. But, of course they're alive. Why else would they be tenants?" An evil grin appeared on Dolon's face.

Roman changed the topic as quickly as possible. "Who is this?" he asked, pointing to one of the puppets.

The puppet had shoulder length blonde hair, deep brown eyes with slit-style pupils, and pale skin with dark makeup. They were dressed in a black knee-length dress, fishnet stockings, and had black strings attached to different parts of their body. There was a crack in their arm, the loss of porcelain forming an 'E'.

"That's Ezra, and they use they/them. They're older than the other puppet, and are protective, mysterious, stern, and have been seen flirting with almost every woman we've ever invited over."

"And the other?"

This one had brown hair, falling over his eyes slightly, blue eyes, bright and polished, and pale porcelain with dark makeup, just like the other. He wore a dark purple shirt, teared on the right shoulder, black pants, and fishnet gloves, open on the fingers. He seemed to have more strings than Ezra, and the crack in his arm, which formed a 'V', was significantly smaller.

"This is our new tenant," Dolon said. "He doesn't trust us enough to know his name, so we call him 'V'. He's mysterious, imaginative, and quite whimsical. V also won't go anywhere without Ezra. It's quite hard to move them."

"Amazing..." Roman whispered.

Roman woke up, absolutely parched. I think the bathroom is this way, he thought, getting out of bed.

While walking down the hallway, he heard music. It was calming, and he almost went about with his doing. But he was Roman, he couldn't do that.

Roman changed directions, heading towards the puppet room. He stared through the small crack in the door, and saw something surprising. The puppets, they were dancing? It was graceful, poised and perfectly on beat. But Roman had slipped up. He made eye contact with the enby puppet, who in response stopped dancing and walked to the door.

And that's when Roman knew, he had done. screwed. up.

(Oh my Danny Devito, I did it. I wrote something on Wattpad. Sorry for leaving this on a cliffhanger, but I've got an ace up my sleeve. Also, there's no posting schedule for this, so I'll just do that out of nowhere. Anyhoo, ttyl!
