Marionette (A Sanders Sides AU) (HIATUS)

Chapter 2

(Disclaimer! In the previous chapter I said one of the puppets moved in later than the other. That us not true. I meant to say one was younger than the other, but I said the wrong thing.)

Roman backed up slightly, watching the door open in front of him.

"Hello!" Ezra said gleefully. "Welcome! I've never seen you around here before... Are you new?"

V walked up to the door. "He must be. Those clothes look like nothing I've ever seen before... What kind of fabric is that?"

Roman was surprised. These puppets seemed friendly, not cold. Something was off. But, he pushed it to the side (lol) and asked a different question.

"What are you two doing?"

"Oh! We're dancing!" V said. "We love to perform. Would you like to see?"

Roman nodded.

V ran up to the stage that was in the back of the room. Soft music started playing, and he stepped slowly and carefully. His moves were beautiful, and unlike anything Roman had ever seen. Later in the routine, V slipped an inch during a kick. He and Ezra got scared, but V continued dancing.

"That was beautiful!" Roman yelled, after the dance was over.

"Thank you," V whispered. He then held out his arm in front of Roman.

"What are you doing?" Roman asked.

"I messed up my kick." Upon closer inspection, Roman became shocked at what he saw on the boy's arm. Parts of the porcelain was a different colour, (yes I'm Canadian), and he could see glue marks at the colour change.

"I'm not going to hurt you," Roman barely stuttered out.

Realistic looking tears began to fall from the male marionette's face. He quickly enveloped Roman in a hug, dark makeup slightly staining Roman's white pajamas.

Ezra walked over, alerted by the sound of their brother crying. "What's wrong?!" they asked in a panicked voice.

"He's here to help," V said.

And Roman's heart broke in two at that sentence.
