"My name is Virgil."
Roman felt a strange feeling of pride. He was the first non-puppet to know Virgil's name, although why him, he didn't know.
"It's a beautiful name," Roman said, causing porcelain to turn pink. "Very fitting."
Ezra stifled a laugh at their brother, who seemed to be a stuttering mess.
"Get a room, you two," they called. Soon Roman was just as pink as Virgil.
"I-I..."
"I'm just kidding, can't y'all take a joke?"
Roman turned to avoid eye contact, and ended up face to face with an old clock. It was 2 am. He had been talking to the marionettes for an hour.
"I'm going to get caught here. I'm going back to bed. Goodnight."
Both puppets bowed in response.

Roman woke up the next morning, hand instantly reaching for his wrist. The bracelet was there. It was all real.
A knock arrived at the door. He answered it, revealing Patton.
"Good morning," Patton said. "There's breakfast in the dining hall if you'd like some!"
"Thanks!" Roman called, because Patton was already walking away.
Roman quickly changed, keeping the bracelet on. He walked to the dining hall, taking a detour to pass by the puppet room. He stared inside.
It was back to normal.
Ezra and Virgil were back in their respective cases, and there were no traces of the stage, or any encounter Roman had last night.
He finally made it downstairs, grabbing a plate and putting a small amount of food on it.
Dolon walked over to Roman. "Sorry to interrupt your breakfast," he said, "but I apologize if the tenants bothered you last night. They were quite loud."
"They didn't bother me in the least," Roman said.
In fact, he thought, you're the one who'll be bothered.
(Bam, a new chapter! Sorry for the lack of updates, I'm kinda sick 😅
