A loud grunt escaped from Zane's lips. They sat at the table enjoying a quick breakfast. They had been here three days and so far I hadn't brought up who they really were i hadn't told them who i really worked for.

From across the table, Moriah's eyes looked up to meet mine. She quickly shoved her head down and stirred the bowl of cereal in front of her.

Not 1 word.

She hasn't said one word to me.

I thought she was a Christian? Aren't Christians supposed to be nice to everyone?

Like you would know...

5 minutes later everyone had finished but instead of talking we all seemed to find our empty bowls way more entertaining.

Moriah stood from her chair and started off toward the girl's bedroom. With a huff, I stood and followed her. She had made it halfway down the hallway before I caught up with her.

"Wait." I say but she kept walking. " you need to listen."

"Stop now," I warn. she turns abruptly and heads straight towards me. before I could tell her what I wanted to tell her she was inches from me and thrusting a pointed finger in my chest.

"no you need to listen." she grits.  "how long do you plan to keep us here. I have a job to work, a school I need to get through, and a family who is probably freaking out as we speak."

her words caught me off guard. "wait you have a family? I thought it was just you and your sister?"

"yes, I have other siblings who depend on me to help pay the bills. I thank you for rescuing us and I owe you, but I have to get back to my family. they need me."

"no." I turn around and start to walk away. she isn't going to listen right now to what I have to tell her.

"oh no you don't!" she yells and starts stomping after me.

"I have nothing to say to you right now that you are willing to sit and listen to. nothing that if I told you right now you could handle," I say while opening my bedroom door and slipping inside. I move to shut the door but her hand catches it and she slips inside.

"you will be surprised what I can handle,"  she says anger in her voice.

could she handle it?

well, no time like the present.

"fine ask me anything I am at your disposal." he opens his arms wide as if offering himself.

I roll my eyes and he mirrors my action. zane grabs a shoebox off of the desk next to his bed and softly throws it towards me. I catch it before it hits the ground.

"This holds everything that you need to know."

I open the box and it reveals papers with bank statements, pictures, and strangely enough my adoption papers.

"What is this."

"This is my mission. You." He looked me in the eye and I kept waiting for him to say Just kidding or Gotcha'! But his face remained the same.

"I'm your mission. A simple girl who attends church on Sunday and goes to school on Monday. I am not someone like you would look into." I run my hands down my face.

"Actually you could be the one person who could help us do something that could change the course of the world."

"And what's that? What can I do?"
