⭐️Chapter 69: Ice

Enaz leapt straight off his chair and sped towards the group. Silvia noticed a glimmer on his boots, and on closer inspection realized that he'd created makeshift ice skates and was zipping around the group like a brush user. In his hand, he held a weapon resembling a fencing sword made of magic ice, but it looked like it was sharp on all sides. Everyone quickly got on defense, though they were still tired from Korikuma's fight. Surely if they beat Enaz though, this would be over, right?

Enaz targeted Ryn first, and skated over as quickly as he could. Ryn shot the area around her to make sure she had enough turf to hide in. As Enaz approached with the blade by his side, Ryn threw a burst bomb at him. He easily sliced it in half and kept approaching, Ryn preparing to shoot him with her ink. Corrin would not let her take him on alone, however, and ran to her side.

Enaz readied his blade, but Rehl came in from the sides and knocked it away from him. He growled, and with a quick wave of his hand, Rehl was slammed against the throne room walls, stuck in ice. Jay tried to attack Enaz before he could get back up, but Enaz saw him coming and wiped him away too. Now both of them were stuck with ice, though Rehl wasn't about to give up then and there. He tried to shift into a smaller animal to get out of the ice, but this ice was...very odd, because it somehow restrained him from doing that.

Enaz slowly stood up and launched himself at Corrin and Ryn, though a burst bomb hit him on the side of his face. Cosmo had hit him with a burst bomb, and Enaz impaled the next one he threw, freezing it. He threw it back at Cosmo before turning around to generate an ice shield to block the incoming attacks from Fang and Jack. Corrin rushed at him while Ryn hung back, unable to get a clear shot at him with her ink. Maybe she could do something else though, like melt Corrin's friends?

She planned on running over to his friends as quickly (and quietly, if that was possible) as she could. The only problem was, would Enaz go after her? Well, better to try than to not, so she inked a path over and swam as fast as she could go. Sure enough, Enaz shook off the others and started after her, Silvia and Corrin running after him. Ryn figured it was best to keep going, since there weren't any poles or anything ahead of them that they could get him to run into.

As she reached Rehl and Jay, Ryn whipped out her splattershot and shot the ink at the ice. Corrin could now see what Ryn was up to, and was ready to form a plan with her. Silvia was shooting ink at Enaz with her brella, so it was a perfect distraction. Before Corrin could say anything however, he found Enaz parrying his sword swing he'd went for.

"Wait, I-what?!"

"I've taken notes from your fight earlier. I can predict your moves easily," Enaz replied coldly.

Ryn watched as Corrin kept parrying swings from Enaz, trying to think of a way she could help without getting sliced up (and while also freeing Corrin's friends). The more she thought about it however, the more she realized that the group was in no condition to fight. They'd already used up most of their energy on Korikuma, so if they weren't careful, Enaz might exhaust them without having to even attack. Not only that, but they'd have to fight Misty AFTERWARDS...okay, she needed a low-energy plan. The easiest one she thought of was one where the group could get Enaz stuck in something.

The pillars here seemed like they were too dense for Enaz to get stuck in, and the group didn't have enough strength to topple them over. What about the walls? No, they were lined with decorative crystal that looked like ice but were probably way tougher if the castle lasted for a long time. As Fang got back up from the ground and started shooting at Enaz, Ryn watched Jack and Silvia come in from the other side. Ryn gasped as she readied her weapon. Maybe they could get Enaz stuck between brellas? Ooooh, but Corrin's friends could help out right now...
