❄️Chapter 74: Spirit
Okay, that fight had come a little quicker than expected, but hey! Everyone was here now, and ready to go. The arena didn't seem to have a defined boundary, though the group was willing to bet that there might be some sort of invisible walls somewhere. The group started to spread out, but made sure they could all see each other. If Misty planned on separating everyone to make them weaker, the group was having none of that.
Speaking of which, where WAS she? The group frantically looked around, but they couldn't see her. Ryn started turfing the ground around her for maneuverability. Just then, a yelp from the area was heard. Turning around, Ryn could see Cosmo being lifted up by a strange hang formed out of the fog. Corrin, who was the closest at the moment, cut through the fog in an attempt to free Cosmo.
Cosmo dropped to the ground, but the hand remained mostly intact as it slithered back into the fog. Suddenly, more hands began popping up around everyone. They tried shooting at them, but that seemingly had no effect. Looked like they had to find some other way, so at the moment, all of them were trying to avoid each other and the hands by running around.
A hand even approached Zane, who as at the very, very back of the arena to the point he wasn't even visible to the main group. He simply raised one of his expanding ninja stars and used it to cut the arm to get it to leave him alone. The rest of the group was starting to struggle now, with Ryn having been picked up before biting down on the hand and getting it to let go. It didn't even feel like she was biting a solid surface, and that was a problem. If the foe was like a ghost, how could you do physical damage to them? You could probably only do magic damage.
"COME OUT FROM YOUR HIDING SPOT AND FIGHT US, COWARD!" Jack shouted into the arena.
No response, though that was expected. The group began to turf the area around them, since it was the least they could do. As they were doing so, they could feel Misty's cold gaze watching them. Out of nowhere, a large hand shot out to grab Ryn, who yelped but held tight onto her weapon. Misty emerged as Corrin and the others turned to face the ice spirit, weapons ready.
"So THIS is supposed to be the fire creature said to stop the Ice Kingdom...but just look at her! She's NOTHING!" Misty cackled as her hand gripped Ryn tighter.
Ryn struggled to escape, but found herself unable. Silvia swam up to the hand, shooting ink at it to try and get it to lower, but it simply moved out of the way. Corrin ran up with his sword as Jay and Rehl took the sides. Fighting an opponent that could blend in with the mist like this was going to be hard. Cosmo scrambled to run over as well, and threw a burst bomb at the hand.
It hit the fingers, but the hand still didn't budge. Probably wasn't enough damage or something. Jack reeled back to fling ink at the hand immediately dropped Ryn to slither back into the mist. The group looked around as Ryn got up and away from where the hand had been.
"Ryn, are you okay?!" Silvia exclaimed.
"It's no use! What if she doesn't ever come out?" Ryn exclaimed.
"Then we need to bring her out!" Corrin replied.
Luckily for them, someone already had that covered.
"HEY, SPIRIT! Why don't you come out and face us, unless....you're too scared that we'll beat you instead!" Fang taunted.
Misty emerged from the fog, though this time her presence was noticed by everyone. Before anyone could start attacking, she summoned magic icicles and shot them down at everybody. She even aimed one at Zane, who moved out of the way to avoid getting impaled by it. Everyone else was having a harder time not running into each other as the ice rained down on them like daggers. Some people were hit, though some people were merely scratched by the ice.
