I had been wandering most of the day, trying to keep an eye out for more of my kinsmen and hearing tales from the town previous of a band of witches and warlocks, hunting my kind. I decided to try and help my kinsman flee the area and should I come across said witches and warlocks I would be ready. I look to the sky Noticing that it has become late, I look for a spot to make camp. Smiling as I find a nice spot around a Circling of trees some fallen From age. I kneel clasping my hands saying a little prayer to my beautiful goddess Larethian. The goddess of nature and all things good. I pray for the fallen trees to help their brethren grow tall and strong and I pray for a safe camp.
I pull off my bag, Un-tieing my bed roll, leaning them against a fallen tree, as I go on a hint for firewood finding a substantial amount of return to camp and get a fire started, I lean over reach in my pack and pull out a small coffee pot, setting it aside for tomorrow. I roll out my bedroll setting my bag at the head. I begin eating something rations sitting on my bed, I look up to see the sky and watch the sunset. I say another prayer to the goddess Larethian. Asking for the strength to serve fully and help find my kin. I begin to fall asleep.
My dreams, filled with memories of the past, past loves my training with my master. Master Envaris taught me everything I needed to know to become one with nature giving me Dryadic power. Suddenly I jolted up to sounds in the distance. grabbing my wand and dagger. I move closer, silently hiding just in earshot of them. I hear what sounds like a group of witches and warlocks taunting and torturing someone.moving I for a closer look I notice several witches and warlocks. They begin tortureing her, looking over I see a young girl she appears to be my kin an elf though I cannot tell from this distance. She began laughing an almost crazed frightened laugh like she knows she will die here. I watch more getting hot with anger I watch as life leaves her body.
In a red anger and sudden hatred for the witches and warlocks trodden in black. My hands touch the ground I call for the Briar the thorny vines began in-tangling the witches and warlocks, their life force draining into the earth. I begin breathing heavily as I've used a lot of power. the rose Briar enveloping the witches and warlocks. Until all that is left is a large thorny rose briar. Lifting my hands from the ground I rush over to see if the girl was truly dead. A sad look comes across my face as I pray to my goddess for guidance in the hopes maybe she can be revived.
I try a recovery spell my hands touch the earth as a small white flower blooms above her head.
"That should do something I hope", speaking aloud.
I get up and rush to a nearby stream, rip some of the fabric from my shirt off and dip it in the cool water. rushing back to her ringing the piece of cloth out I gently get on my knees and begin cleaning her face and combing her hair back with my fingers. While singing the song my mother would sing to me when I was just a young boy. A short tune at the time I thought it was just a song about family. When I grew older I realized it was a song about Elvin kind.
"My kin, my kin, our bonds are strong. Together, United, we are, in love, in death. My kin, my kin, in memory begin. Our journey is long.
We'll fight for you, My kin, my kin.
Well die for you, my kin, my kin.
My kin, my kin, we are strong. Together forever we are strong. My kin, my kin though the journey be long my kin shall always remain strong."
I hurriedly ran to my camp moving it right by the girl completely forgetting about the witch in pink. I start a fire and set my bedroll again. I lay down in it falling asleep as I used quite a bit of power.
