At the end of the series, Tom and Jerry commit suicide. They are depressed about their girlfriends leaving them and allow a train to run over them. Though their deaths are not fully seen in the final scene, you can see them sit on the tracks, their eyes bloodshot from crying, and hear a trainwhistle.
