A/N

I'm alive! :D

I wanna focus on how Chihiro bonds with the other characters before all the villain drama. So leggooooo

In school

Gao's POV

"PASS IT!"

Bad idea.

The handball flew right into my face, smacking my cheek.

So I sat at the side for the rest of the gym lesson, holding and ice pack to the side of my face.

And guess what? The culprit was none other than our very own Noboru Kodo.

-_-

"Sorry!!!!!"

"Yeowch......." I winced.

Rubbing my sore spot, I glanced back at where the rest of the class was.

Man, is our class athletic. I keep fit and play sports too, but today, it's a different story. My cheek and jaw are aching. Jeez.

"You alright?"

I looked up and grinned sheepishly at Chihiro. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just got a bruise."

And a large one at it. Ouch.

"Oh? Alright. Are you really sure - "

"Yeah, I'm fine." I tried to suppress the stinging pain on the throbbing sore spot.

Forget it! Change subject, change subject......>_<||

"Anyway," I glanced back where our classmates were playing. "Why aren't you playing?"

"Handball's not really my kind of activity. I'm sitting in as reserve though."

I blinked, slightly surprised. From what I remember, she's pretty sporty and athletic. Honestly, she could be one of the fittest in the class, a level higher than most of the guys.

As if reading my mind, she smiled. "I know I'm good at physical activities and all, but I usually lean more to the arts side. I do enjoy some activities though."

"Really?! I didn't know."

She sat down next to me and smoothed down her shorts. "I try to stay fit, but I'm actually kinda.......more laid back and chill? I don't really like vigorous, competitive activities, honestly."

"But you're good at them!"

She shrugged. "As I said, they may not be my taste."

Wow, interesting. I thought that she'd be the type to do anything and everything. That's what everyone thinks, at least. They say she's nearly perfect.

But for a practically perfect person, she's more shy and down to earth.

I shifted the ice pack nearer to the side of my face. The cold and the conversation did direct my attention away from the annoying wound.

Yikes. 😰😫😖

"Are you really alright, Gao???" She squinted a little at me.

"M' fine....." I grumbled, gritting my teeth a little.

"It looks pretty painful." She touched the ice pack to push it up slightly.

"Nah, it's nothing, I've experienced worse. I've had a giant syringe jabbed into my butt before, and it's fifty times worse than this."

"Gosh, yikes!" She cringed. "What for?"

"Silly Seaweed Syndrome."

"Silly what?!!!"

I sighed. "Ah, never mind."

"Okay.......but don't worry about your bruise too much. Just be careful next time."

"I know." I grinned. "It'll heal, like always."

"Yep."

She glanced at her half empty water bottle. "I better get some water. I'm drying up every second we talk. And I might have to go in, too."

"Hahaha, alright. See you after class."

"See you." Chihiro giggled a little, then headed to the water cooler to refill her bottle.

As she walked off, I realised something.

The bruise didn't sting anymore. It was as if it healed in an instant.
