Chapter 3

After literature is lunch which will also be awkward because we have all the same friends. As I walk in I can see Niall waiting at our normal table.

"Hey Kat ,hey Liam." Niall says as we walk over to our usual table.

It's near the hallway doors for easy access if needed which I will probably use. Me and Liam just look at him and Liam waves and I flash a fake smile which ends up looking timid making Niall squint his eyes curiously.

"lets go get lunch." Niall says to break the awkward silence between us three and we both agree and walk to the line. We get to the end where we pay and me as well as Liam are done getting our food and paying and Niall is finished getting his extremely big tray of food like usual.

The lunch lady says " That will be seven-fifty" and Niall's eyes widen and I know that look. It's his 'oops I don't have enough money' look.

Liam realizes the look too so me and Liam pull out five dollars each without talking and pay for his food and we let Niall keep the extra change.

"Thanks guys I don't know what I would and will do without you."

"What do you mean by will?"Liam says and that's when my face becomes red because I didn't realize that I hadn't told Liam when I was moving I just told him that I was so he doesn't know I'm leaving in a week. He also doesn't know where to.

"What? someone say something." He says in a worried tone.

" I'm moving to Amsterdam in a week and I forgot to tell you when I was?" I say in a question like phrase, as I also screw up my facial expression.

He half laughs but after he realizes that I am serious his facial expression saddens and he quickly stands up making me flinch for no reason and I decide to stuff my mouth and look down at my food instead of making eye contact with him.

"Really Katherine more things to talk about? great,how very nice." He says sarcastically and begins to pick up his tray and walk away making me jump up after him.

When I finally catch up to him he is about to walk out the main doors of the school.

"Liam wait! ." I yell while running after him. He stops,in his path towards the door and turns to face me.

" I'm not walking out on our conversation. I just want to wait in my car for you,besides schools over in an hour and I'm not hungry." He says quietly while looking at his feet and I know I have clearly hurt him.

I nod and walk back to the cafeteria and sit across from Niall and his girlfriend Samantha. She is a little bit shorter than him as well am I and she has strawberry blonde hair and she always seems to be hungry like him. She is also really dressy which is totally the opposite of me but I still like her.

"Hi Katherine you look really pretty as usual."she says and I smile as if to say thank you and she smiles back.

She always complements me on what I'm wearing even when I'm in sweat pants

" You look pretty as usual Sam " Niall says making her blush and he kisses her on the forehead.

" You two are so cute" I say sarcastically and playfully stick my tongue out at them.

"Oh hush Kat, maybe if you weren't so dang on stubborn you could be in a relationship with you know who." He says in a playful tone and for a second I think of Liam but he doesn't know what's  going on between us and that's when I realize he is talking about my ex-boyfriend Isaac.

He is very hot and has a lip piercing on the bottom right of his mouth and his hair is always perfect. It's only been a week since we broke up and we dated for 3 amazing months. Well the first two were.

"Shut up, you know why I broke up with him" I say a little harsh without meaning to.

"Actually I don't. I was stuffing my face with food when you told me so why did you?" He says with a smile making Sam smile as well and try not to laugh at what he said .

I don't really want to tell them why because I know that they will think it's a stupid reason which it is but I tell them anyway.

"We broke up because he didn't have time for me." I say looking down and fiddling with my fingers.

Niall lets out a small chuckle and Sam hits him in the stomach roughly, nearly knocking the wind out of him.

Sam clears her throat and reaches across the table to lay her hand over top of my fidgety ones.

"Well I think he was lucky to have you and someone who doesn't even try in a relationship isn't worth it." She says with a big bright smile on her face

"Thanks. I still like him ,but that's a lost cause." I say nearly heartbroken thinking of him.

I really wish I hadn't broke up with him because I still like him ,but I like Liam a lot more and it's weird because they are complete opposites and Isaac and I have more in common.

" Well I think he still likes you too." Niall says fast with big eyes and I turn to see Isaac coming towards us great.

" Katherine can we talk?" His tone is timid which I'm not use to. I nod in agreement and we walk to the hall.

"So what did you want to talk about Isaac." I say quickly to avoid silence.

"Do I need to spell it out? U.S Katherine, that's what I want to talk about." He whisper yells.

" why do you want to talk about the United States? We don't live there." I smirk, knowing that's not what he meant.

"You know what I mean."

"Well, Isaac. Last time I checked, there wasn't an 'us' "

He takes a deep breath and continues on with what he has to say.

"Well maybe there should be an us okay. I'm sorry for being so damn stupid I was...... I was to afraid of commitment but now that we're not together I can't handle it. I need you." He says loud at first but quiet as he ends his sentence.

" What do you say.Give me another chance,just one more chance?"

As soon as he finishes talking again he grabs both of my hands knowing that I would try to walk away forcing me to look him straight in his beautiful brown eyes.

"Well guess what Isaac as much as I want to be with you I can't ok. I'm moving in a week and I just can't trust you no matter how much I like you. I can't put myself through anymore pain knowing that you will probably not have time for me again and as you said before. You are afraid of commitment." I say back trying to look away but I can't because he is holding my hands still.

"Please Katherine I'm over my fear of commitment because of you... I don't care about a long distance relationship I just need you. Please give me another chance." He says and as soon as I'm about to answer the bell begins to ring and the hall becomes crowded with people so to keep from attracting a crowd I hurry my words.

"Fine, pick me up at 6:30. we can talk over diner." I say making him let go of my hands and he smiles as I begin to walk away, but he quickly pulls me into a tight hug.

He can be a real softie around me but he is a complete jerk to other people because of his reputation that he has always had around the school. Even before me and him knew each other.

" Thank you Kat, thank you." He says over and over again.

" Okay, okay" I say and hug him back awkwardly taking in his smell before he lets me go and I turn and walk away.

He smells a little bit like smoke but I know it's because he was with his friends .He doesn't smoke. Isaac hangs out with the other two school bad boys and they both smoke. The top bad boy is Harry Styles . He has lots of tattoos and has his lip pierced on the left and eye brow pierced on the right, which I think the eye brow piercing is a little too much but I have no say in what he gets pierced but he is still good looking . The second top bad boy is Zayn Malik. He is really good looking as well and he has about the same amount of tattoos as Harry but Zayn only has his ears pierced and nothing else, well that is visible. The only turn offs is the smoking part and if Isaac was a smoker I would probably die of the smoke inhalation . I'm not allergic or anything I just hate the smell.
