"You know what, this is bullshit, I'm no going to listen to you, Nyx. I'm so over this, heaven or hell or whatever. Bye." Kate abruptly stood up and disappeared in the corridor, leaving us with Nyx alone in the galley. She didn't even look at her, just marched away.
I could see a hint of sadness in Nyx's eyes. Mesmerizing blue eyes in which I was slowly getting lost. She sighed and leaned back on her chair, pushing the plate with the rest of toasts away from her.
- "Not hungry anymore?"
"No..."
- "When you spoke about Angels falling for humans..." no need for me to finish the question, Nyx just closed her eyes and tilted her head."How come you don't hate me?" Nyx's eyes met mine again.
- "Well, I was angry with you at first but it's more like I'm mad at the situation your... boss... dragged me into. I don't think you're actually evil. As I said, I've seen a lot and I've seen the real evil.. you don't seem like a bad... being... to me. But correct me if I'm wrong."Nyx slightly smiled.
"You don't think Hell is Evil? Lucifer is Evil?"
- "Is it? Are you all evil?""When everyone thinks certain way about you, you eventually start behaving like that."
- "Awwww you just don't want to disappoint, do you, Nyx."
She chuckled. Adorable."Do we have anything to drink?"
- "Drink? Like alcohol? It's only eight in the morning..."
"And? We don't have time at home."
- "At home, meaning, in Hell."
"Yep. So? At least beer or..?"
- "Give me a second."In a moment I fixed Nyx with irish coffee.
"What is that?"
- "Irish coffee. An actuall coffee with whiskey."
"Oh, that's lovely." she tasted it and licked her lips and moaned with pleasure. How sensual.- "Now where were we?" I sat closer, actually, next to Nyx. She turned towards me and continued.
"We are not evil. I mean, we all did some stupid shit at one point in our lives, but, we don't act as enemies. We are considered for bad guys because we punish those who deserve it. I'm the judge and the jury. Who do you think would keep the balance? God?"- "Maybe."
"No, he doesn't care. You're all just puppets. If we didn't punish sinners, noone would. They could end up roaming the world forever if it wasn't for us."- "So you take them to Hell instead?"
"Yes."
- "And if they are good? Who takes them to Heaven? Is that even a place? A real one, like Hell is?""Well, we created Hell differently. While living human being can go the Hell, in certain circumstances, it's not possible with Heaven. That's place only for souls. And, Heaven for souls is separated for Heaven for divine. That's where God and Angels are. Clouds and shit. It's boring, to be honest."
- "Let me guess, you're not the type to play the harp among other chubby Angels?"
"Exactly. I don't get along with hypocrites."
- "Is that why you fell with Lucifer in the first place?""Partialy. I didn't like the way God behaved and treated us. He only favoured the ones who followed him without doubt. We wanted... more. Lucifer was full of ideals and ideas. His daddy didn't even listen to him."
- "What a couple you two are. Boy with daddy issues and introvert with anger management problems."
- "We're not a couple. He's like my older, but more reckless, bro."Ok, I admit. Talking with Nyx was pleasing. Not only was she so direct and bold but also the tone of her voice was addictive and calming in certain way. She finished her drink and looked at me.
- "What?"
"Can I get one more, please?"
- "Since when do demons say please?"
"I'm not a demon. I'm Nephilim."
- "Right..." I got up shaking my head and brought the Nephilim another treat.
