5. The One With The Incident

A few minutes after the incident in the hallway, Jungkook was finally able to breathe again.
His heart still felt like it was about to explode, but other than that, he had himself back under control.
But it only allowed his thoughts to fill up his mind and poison his soul.

He knew omegas were weak, but he never thought a single scent would influence him this way.
He felt helpless and wanted nothing more than to cry.

But there was something even worse than all of this.
The one and only Taehyung turned out to be his mate.
The one who hated omegas more than anything in his life and only saw them as literal dirt.
The one, who treated him, as if they had never been friends.

Why wasn't he a beta? What did he do wrong in his life to deserve such a shame.

Eventually he was alone in the hallway, sitting on the crowd.
Through the silence you could hear his faint sniffles.
He knew he shouldn't cry about something he couldn't change, but it felt good to let it out.

"Jungkook?"

Jungkook startled as he heard the male voice coming from above.
As he averted his head he was met with a wide but worried smile coming from a boy called Hoseok.
Jungkook knew him, because he was one of Jimin's friends.
Although they had never really talked to each other he felt relieved as the smiling boy approached him.
It actually felt quite soothing to have the faint smell of a beta around him other than the ones of alphas and omegas.

"Is everything okay?", he asked and kneeled down.

Jungkook was fast to wipe away his tears, then he nodded, but shook his head right afterwards.
"Actually I feel like shit right now."

"I see... Do you want to talk about it? You know, you don't have to!
We could also go get something to eat or play at the arcade to cheer you up a little.
Or.... If you don't want to.... I can leave you alone if you'd like me to"
Since the two were more like strangers Hoseok didn't really know what the younger would prefer, so he blabbered away.

It was the first time Jungkook smiled again at this day.
"Thank you, really!
I don't really want to talk about it, but a little distraction would be great, I think."

"Sure! I have a free period anyway.
Let's get out of here!"
Hoseom helped hom up and together they left the building.
They weren't sure where to go but Jungkook was fine as long they were away from all of this.

"..... And then she really had the audacity to call me a horse!", hoseok explained with playful indignation in his voice.
Jungkook on the other hand laughed loudly at the older's story

"You're a attractive horse though", he assured him soon after, which was not even a lie.
Not the thing with the horse, but Jungkook admitted that Hoseok looked quite handsome.
And if there wasn't a certain alpha lingering through his head he would have appreciated the beta's beauty a lot more.

"Thank you. Surely she wasn't worth it anyway.
Hey, what about we head back to the dormitory?
It's getting pretty late and I'm sure Jimin already misses you!"

The Omega sighed.
"I don't think so.
I was really rude to him this morning... You know... About being an omega.
He probably hates me and he has every right to be."
