Chapter 20

Jace held his mate close and closed his eyes in bliss, he counted her heart beat which helped him to calm down.
She laid her head on his chest, playing with the buttons on his shirt.
" Jace, where are your parents? " she suddenly asked. She felt him stilled under her and she raised her head to look at him.
Jace closed his eyes briefly and looked down at her.
" dead "
Rose gasped in surprise " am-am sorry Jace "
" its okay " he caressed her cheeks " it happened a long time ago "
" still, what happened? "
" Rogue attacked "
" oh my God, you mean the psycho after me? "
Jace's hands tightened round her " no one is taking you from me, I'll kill them before they can touch even a strand of your hair "
Rose frowned at him " he said you did something to him, what was it? "
Silent
Rose could hear her heartbeat as she waited for Jace to answer her.
Jace looked away from her questioning gaze.
" Jace? " she called " mate for a mate "
Jace grunt and sat on the bed, Rose head ended on his laps, and she pushed herself into a sitting postion beside him.
" what did you do? "
" killed his mate "
" what? "
Jace stood up and started pacing the room. " yes!  He killed my parents, Toby is never over it, he was only 6 then, he is on medication before of what he witnessed at a tender age!  Do you know why he uses glasses? " he laughed bitterly " of course not,  so he wouldn't see what he saw with his own eyes years ago, the murdered of his parents!  Hell I was angry, I was thrown into being the leader at a tender age and caring for my little brother. "

Rose was dumbfounded at the truth. She stayed back on the bed, knowing Jace have to release all his anger and be free. 

" he came to attack again, but with the help of the pack we were ready, we captured his mate and I killed her right in front of him, he escaped "
" now he wants to revenge? " she asked
" he is not touching you " he walked to her and hugged her " you are the happiest thing that has happened in my life for a long time "
" Jace, kiss me "
" with pleasure " he bent and kissed her.

Rose helped the pack with Christmas preparations, going out to buy gifts and so, she visited her parents luckily Anna and Isa came to visit that same day and they all spent the night.
Her father was still being cold to Rose but her sisters just asked for forgiveness for treating her like they did.

Rose hanged around with the ladies and their bodyguards.
Christmas came and gone and school resumed, still no word from Rogue.

The ladies were taken to school and they all went their different ways.
" finally " Toby breathed out walking close to Rose
Rose laughed " how have you been Toby, its been long I saw you? "
" sure "
Rose laughed " see you later in English " she parted ways and walked to her first class.
Someone came into her way, she saw Tina and  groaned, she begged Jace to allow Lucy and Anderson maintain their normal class not to change class because of her that she will be okay, but is she really safe?.
" hello Tina "
" is the Luna all alone now? " Tina taunted.
" Tina please, just let me go to class before am late "
" and we wouldn't want that right? " Tina shook her head. " since you don't listen to advice, little Luna watch your back " Tina turned and left.
Well Tina scares her she won't lie. Rose proceed to her class.

Toby walked together with Rose to lunch and her sisters joined them.
Soon, Kate, Hillary, Lucy and Anderson showed up.
" full table " Toby murmured
Rose smiled.
Rose felt eyes on her, strange, she looked round the cafe, everyone was busy, eating, talking making out just like Anderson and Hillary some were even reading while others were picking on the lesser ones in the cafe. She couldn't find the strange eyes on her.
" you are not eating " Lucy pointed out to Rose.
Rose galloped " I- I will "
" everything okay? " Isa asked
" yep " Rose stood up " I need the washroom " she left the group.

Rose washed her face, getting rid of the make up  Lucy did for her.  She heard footsteps, and the door opened her heart rate faster. She saw Lucy through the mirror.
" you scared me Lucy! " she turned to Lucy.
" are you sure you are okay? " Lucy asked with concern
" yep "
" I guess you might need this " Lucy held a make up kit " wouldn't want people to wonder where your make up went? "
Rose groaned but allow Lucy to redo her make up.

After that they returned to the table.
" are you two okay? " Toby asked  them
" yep "
" congrats, you missed lunch " Anderson said and the bell rang
" someone tell me the different between this school and any other high school " Hillary groaned.
" you can just ask Mr Alpha, since he made the rules " Kate told Hillary packing her stuffs
" well, Rose can tell me to change that " Anna offered.
" no no, don't get me involved " she took her bag and dragged Toby away.

Rose woke up in the middle of the night thirsty, she saw Jace sleeping peacefully, she gently got out of bed not to wake him. She went back the kitchen barefooted not to make unnecessary sounds.
She got down from the last chair when she heard voices she stopped in her tracks.
" you are not her mate! " a female voice said
" I don't care? " a male voice said " I want her "
" I don't think so "
" you are not stopping me, its either you help out, dont be a selfish bitch "
" leave "
Rose heard footsteps and then light came up in the dark kitchen.
" evasdropping is not a healthy thing "
Rose jumped back in fear, still trying to adjust to the binding light, she stared at Tina who has an evil glare directed to her.
" I - I was just getting some waters " Rose shuttered
" are we now? "
" Y-yes " Rose went to the fridge and took out a bottled water.
" little Luna, don't get ya self in my mess "
Rose said nothing but practically ran back to Jace room. She tried to calm her breathing when the door suddenly open she nearer screamed.
" Rose? " Jace was in a defensive stance looking at the corridor
" you scared me! " Rose squeaked, pushing him to go in, Jace followed her in locking the door.
" your heartbeat "
" I went to get this downstairs, it was dark, i hate the dark "
" Rose "
She popped the cover of the bottle and drank slowly from the bottle. Jace just watched her and when she was done she climbed back on the bed and kept the bottle on the side table.
" come on Jace, its too early to be up and am still sleepy "
" did you block me out of your mind? " his shocked voice rang out.
" did I? " Rose was surprised and glad about that since he won't be able to know why she was really scared.
" forget it " Jace joined her on the bed and pulled her close.

" I love you too " Rose replied out loud.
