" I don't understand " Rose said making herself more comfortable in Jace's arm. He held back a groan, he can do this, he can control himself.
" during heat, other unmated wolf would be drawn to you and mate with you, even Toby will not be able to hold himself back "
" oh "
" yes oh!  "
Rose was quite for some times before speaking " my sisters? "
" should be in their room "
" why did you cancel the trip? "
He was silent, studying her " are you looking forward to it? "
" everyone is "
" its not safe, some rogue were found at our boundaries, so I canceled any chance of putting the people at risk"
" what about the humans here? "
" we protect them also and make sure they know nothing about us "
" what will now happen to my family and I? "
" nothing, you are safe Rose, I won't allow any harm near you, and you won't be alone anymore "
" what do you mean? "
" you are a target now, you need to be safe at all time, so you will be guarded "
" hell no " she was met with another pain that she found it difficult to breath. " Ja.. Jace make it st... Stop.. " she hit his chest.
" calm down Rose and try to breath through your mouth "
She tried to do as told his voice and touch calming her. She searched desperately for his mouth and when she did found it she pressed her lips to his.  
  Jace went stiffed for sometime before relaxing into the kiss. He gave Rose a good kiss till she fell asleep in his hands.

Days later, Rose was feeling herself but was avoiding Jace. Her sisters setted well in the pack house and were not aware of any odd things.
Nicholas, Kate and Toby were in the game room when Rose and her two bodyguards came in. They were one of the best fighters.
Anderson who attends the same school with Rose but older than her by two years, he has a mate, Hillary, friend of Rose in the kitchen department and in school.  Then her second guard a female Lucy by name, she is of the same age with Rose, unmated.
   Though Rose did not like the idea of being followed around, she has to compile with the ones Jace choose for her.
" The gamer is here! " Kate cheered as Rose sat beside her and the others filled up the empty space.
" not in the mood " Rose yawned
" she has been down since forever " laughed Lucy
" are you okay? " Toby asked her concerned
" am good "
Nicholas stood up " excuse me guys " he gave his mate a kiss and left.
Hours later Kate looked at Rose in fear
" Kate? "
" are you okay? "
" y... Yes, Jace is back and he is angry "
Rose was glad to hear that Jace was back, he had been gone for two days now.
" Rose Nicholas thinks you can calm him down " Kate was up pulling Rose away.
" Kate  I don't thin... "
" its not a good idea " Toby tried to stop Kate.
They stopped in the hallway, Kate turned to Toby " you think he will hurt her? "
" am not saying that " Toby tried to defend himself
" they are mates Toby, if anyone can calm Jace down then its Rose, he is losing it "
" how do you know? " Rose asked
" Nicholas mindlinked me "
" Rose? " Toby called to see if she was up to the task
" I.. "
Kate pushed her to Jace's room and they stopped outside " I don't know what to say! " cried Rose " we don't even talk "
" let your heart lead you " Lucy adviced.
They heard a crashing and jumped back
" this is a terrible idea " Toby murmured.
The door opened and Nicholas came out, the side of his head bleeding. Kate rushed to her mate
" oh baby "
" am fine " Nicholas said, Kate turned to Rose and Rose felt guilty.
" fine, and if am dead its on you " Rose glared at Kate.
" alright " Kate opened the door and literally pushed Rose in.

Jace's once spotless room was now a mess, glass broken everywhere,  Rose was careful not to step on any. She saw Jace standing by his window looking out, she gingerly went to him.
  Time to put to use all she had learnt from Kate about being a mate.
" Jace? " she asked slowly. No answer
She gently place her hands on his shoulder, she felt the sparkle but ignored it.
" are you okay? "
More silent
" you can talk to me you know " she paused trying to turn him around but he was too strong for her so she went around to stand in front of him.
" you are scaring me "
He hugged her buring his face in the croke of her neck, inhaling her scent, according to Kate, it calms the mate. He trailed kisses on her mark making her to moan and melt into him.
" you have being avoiding me, why? " he asked pulling back and meeting her gaze.
Rose blushed, " I.. This is all strange to me, you are my lecturer! "
" am your mate, and that's what matters " he kissed her face. " you mean a lot to me, am  scared of losing you "
" Jace, I have my bodyguards, I don't even see any danger! "
" you won't understand " he whispered but she heard and let go.
" why were you angry? " she changed the topic
" pack business " he dismissed
Rose pulled away and looked around his room " look at what you did "
" the maid will see to it "
" hum, I guess you are fine now, so I will be leaving "
" stay "
She looked at him
" not in this mess plus I've gotten tons of unfinished homeworks " she quickly left his room and breathed out in relief but it was short lived. She turned to Tina burning digger glare directed at her. She haven't been seeing Tina around, well, here she is.
" you whore! "
