Chapter Fourteen

Anxiety pained my chest as the door slowly creaked open. I mean look at this! One girl and three guys! My life never gets better!

"Shouldn't you kids be in class.", the voice asked. It was Mr. Rogers, the school custodian. "Yea, but we're dealing with something more important right now,old man.", Ethan snarled.

Mr. Rogers is an older man. About mid-50s. He's very gentle and kind. He is always there to give advice, and he even allowed students to call him "grandpa" since he has no children or grandkids of his own.

" Fine. We'll leave. Just know you're dead, you dumbfuck.", Ethan said at a deathly low.

I never knew that Chris could be so serious! No guy has every been this serious about me.

"You kids need to go to class. And hey,  don't worry about them. They're just a bunch of hotheads that can't back up what they say. Alright? Don't give 'em a second thought.", Mr. Rogers said, giving us a reassuring smile.

"Thanks, I really needed to hear that.", Chris thanked him.

Chris and I decided to ditch class and go to a local ice-cream shop. It was fun to ditch Mr. Davis's class anyways after what happened, but ditching with Chris was so much more fun.

"Two single-scoop chocolate ice cream cones,please."

"Thanks, Chris. I'll pay next time." "Don't worry about it.  I was happy to buy it for you.  It made you smile, didn't it? I'll do anything to make you smile.", he said as he chuckled.

While I was talking with Chris,  I heard a small yelp from not too far away. It sounded like a lost dog or something.

"Hey, let's go check into that." "Are you sure?", Chris asked. "Yea.  I'm sure."

Chris and I went a followed the yelp and we finally ran upon what we were looking for.
