Chapter 25
I don't think this is such a great idea, Gemma protested as she watched Azazel use her body to break another lock. The seal of Solomon sparkled around Gemma's finger as she broke the lock.
"This is an excellent idea," Azazel laughed. "Let the gods scurry around while I break all the floodgates at once."
What about...Gemma hesitated as she watched the tall man step out from the cell. His body was etched with needle marks. The scars ran up and down his arms like stretch marks. His angry black eyes landed on Azazel and he lunged forward for her throat.
Very calmly, Azazel held up her hand with the gold ring. The man froze immediately.
"You were saying?" Azazel asked Gemma.
What about the people above...the humans.
"We claim a few million souls, what's the big deal?" Azazel shrug. She turned her attention back to the demon in front of her.
"Go," she smiled. "You are free...run wherever you want. But answer my call when I summon you."
Azazel took a step forward and gripped the demon's heck in Gemma's tiny hands. The gold ring around her finger hissed as it touched the man's skin. Pain and terror flashed across the man's black eyes.
"Disobey my summon and you're gonna wish you had never met me." Azazel said. She gave the man one last hard look before stabbing him away.
"Thank you...next." She said smiling as she moved onto the next cell.
Azazel, how many of them do you think you can control with that ring? Gemma worried. I think ten is enough...
Azazel chuckled, "Gemma darling, you are now the queen of the witches. Chaos should be your best friend."
I'll be the queen of nothing if they kill everyone.
"I'm making us the queen of the dead." Azazel said sternly. "We will be their queen. We will be their god. We will be their everything!"
Azazel, I -
Azazel gasped, shutting Gemma up in her mind.
"Oh my goodness!" She screeched in delight. "This is what I have been looking for!"
Gemma watched through her eyes as Azazel moved closer to the cell gates. It was pitch black inside. The rods on the cell were covered in frost. It was the first thing Gemma had noticed when she entered hell...Hell wasn't a pit of fire...it was a barren frozen wasteland. So cold that the ice made your skin feel as if it was burning if you touched it for too long.
Azazel aimed at the large padlock on the cell gate and blasted it. The lock shattered to pieces and crumbled to the ground. She wasted no time in swinging the door open.
Gemma gulped nervously as she watched a figure walk towards her in the darkness. This one was larger than the previous one. His greasy hair hung loose around his face, hiding most of his features. Gemma watched in astonishment as she realized his skin was red.
The man grunted and huffed like a bull. Smoke came out of his nostrils and blew in Azazel's face.
"Dargan," Azazel greeted the beast.
The red skinned beast huffed another cloud of smoke out.
"Find me Pandora's box." Azazel commended.
The beast sniffed the air to the left and then the air to the right. He grumbled unintelligently before running off.
Azazel laughed, "Ah, I love that fool."
