Chapter Three: First Day Again

Chaeyoung's POV

I start shaking as we get to the front gate of the school. I tug on my blazer and straighten my tie.

I'm happy I get to see my friends again. I've really missed them, I hope they like who I am now.

I hope she likes who I am now..

"You've gotta stay calm Chaeng, if you act too weird they'll know something's up." Sana unnie grabs my arm, getting me to stop walking, and stands in front of me.

"We're meeting in the garden like we usually do before class. I know you haven't seen her or them for 5 years but please try to stay as calm as possible. If you need anything or if something happens during school, just text me and I'll be right there. Okay?" She waits patiently for me to answer. I take a few deep breaths until I feel more relaxed.

"Okay." I answer and give her a firm nod, signaling to her that I'm ready.

She nods back and we start walking again.

We walk through the front gate and towards the garden at the side of the school.

I forgot how big the school was. There's kids everywhere.

I hear laughter as we reach the garden's entrance, it brings a smile to my face. They always were playing around.

There they are, sitting at one of the large tables in the middle of the garden.

MoMo unnie is eating what is probably her second breakfast while talking with Dahyun who's sitting right beside her, Nayeon unnie is pouting, probably because of Jeongyeon unnie who is laughing next to her, Jihyo unnie and Tzuyu are sitting at the end of the table reading, and then there's her..

Sitting beside Dahyun unnie, looking at her phone intently, probably playing a game.

Even though I can't see her face, my heart is still going a mile a minute.

"Hey guys!" Sana unnie calls out as she walks up to them and sits beside Tzuyu, blushing as the latter looks to give her a small smile.

Sana unnie looks to me, giving me a look that says 'stay calm' and waves me over.

I guess she saw that because her head turns my way and it feels like all the air is stolen from my lungs.

She's so beautiful, so so beautiful.

Her long brown hair that falls down her back, her fair skin, her gorgeous brown eyes.

She gives me a smile, stands up and makes her way over to me.

"Hey, you gonna come sit?" She asks in her soft, sweet voice.

I've only heard her voice through a TV for the past 5 years..

I'm suddenly filled with emotion and I can't help myself. Without a rational thought, I quickly step towards her and wrap my arms around her waist in a tight hug.

Her scent is just like I remember, Jasmine..

"Minari.." I breathe out, tears filling my eyes.

"Chaengie, what's wrong?" She says softly as she wraps her arms around me too.

I just snuggle my head into her shoulder, savoring the feeling of her in my arms.

I feel her tighten her hold on me, bringing her head to rest in the crook of my neck.

"You can tell me anything." She whispers next to my ear.
