I decided to leave. I couldn't stay there with Ocean, not after what he'd done to Torin. So I ran, as fast as I could. I heard howling and rustling leaves. I was not alone. I had to get out. I estimated that I was around a mile into the woods. I couldn't turn back now I had to keep running. My legs hurt from sprinting through the woods and my breath was shaky. I finally saw light. The school. I ran and hid behind a building. I had to walk through the car park and the sight of Torin's dry blood on the bitumen made me sick to my stomach. At least he was probably safe now. Unlike me, I had other things to worry about though because just then a night security guard came around the corner. I tried to get up but my legs ached from how far and how fast I ran before. He pulled my arm up and put me into his security car. He called for a backup shift to come and drove me down to the police station. They called my mum and she came within minutes. I could see the relief on her face when she saw me safe. But her eyes soon filled with dissappointment.
"This is the second night you haven't come home. She said through tears "I was worried sick. I am very disappointed in you Stellar Jane Murphy"
And with that she thanked the officer and the security guard and took me home. The ride home was silent but I could hear her sniffle every now and then. We got home and I went straight to my room. I just cried. What was I supposed to do. My emotions overwhelmed me and I was dreading the thought of having to go back to school tomorrow. But what could I do? I had to go, there's no way my mum would believe what happened. She'd send me to an asylum. Why is my my life such a mess. What did I do to deserve this?
