The door suddenly swings open, almost slamming Petunia in the face. The five agents walk out with a couple laptops and writing pads. When Sunny comes out since she's the last one to do so, the skunk gently tugs at her hand, grabbing her attention.

"M-Miss Myou? I got something to ask you." Petunia said in an anxious tone. Sunny bent down to the skunk's level. "Petunia, you don't need to call me by my last name, that's so formal." Sunny said as she smiled. "So, what's the question?" She asked.

"It's about Shadow. I could tell right from the start that, something is up with her. Not to be offensive or anything, I-I just wanna know..." The skunk replied.

Sunny paused and made a small chuckle.

"D-Does she not like me or something?" Petunia asked worriedly.

"No, no, no! Not at all! She loves you guys, and she loves doing her job for you!" Sunny exclaimed. "But... why is she always... acting like that...?" Petunia asked with a confused expression.

"Well, for Shadow..." Sunny began before whispering to Petunia. Petunia's eyes widened, and she nodded at what Sunny told her. "So that's why." Sunny finished with a smile.

"Wow... I had no idea. Thanks, Sunny." Petunia said happily, with her worries now satisfied.

In the living room, Shadow pulled up a stool and sat down in front of Russell and the others. She pulled out a pen as Bella, Luna, and Erika accompanied her. Bella and Erika got a laptop ready, while Luna pulled out a writing pad and pen just like Shadow did.

"Is it alright if we ask you guys some questions about the disappearances?" Shadow asked as she flicked her ear. Cuddles shrugged, followed by the other two nodding in approval.

"Good." Shadow said as she turned her focus to her writing pad. "Why don't we start with you, Cuddles?" Bella asked the bunny, whose ears perked up at the addressing of his name. "Can you tell us of how you were surviving this event before ending up at Petunia's house?" She asked. Cuddles' ears drooped as he made a sad look, before sighing.

"I was with my best friend at the time..." He spoke softly. "He has 'vanished' as of now." The bunny tried hiding his face from view. "Was it, Toothy?" Russell asked gently. Upon hearing his friend's name, Cuddles covered his eyes with one arm before getting up.

"Yeah... that's him." The bunny began sniffing as he left the room. "E-Excuse me for a bit..."
Everyone watched remorsefully as they could faintly hear the bunny's muffled cries. Shadow began to stand up, presumably to check on Cuddles, but Luna gently touched her shoulder, stopping her. "He said that he needs a minute, we'll check on him in a bit, ok?" Shadow nodded with a quiet, "Ok" before sitting back down again. The sea otter made an ashamed look and hung his head low. "Hey bro, you didn't do anything wrong." Russell slightly lifted his head to the orange beaver, who was looking concerned.

"I-I didn't mean to make him upset." Russell sighed sadly. "Say, your best friend has vanished too, and so has mine..." Handy added, relating a bit to the otter. "If it weren't for him, I wouldn't even be here right now..."

"Who is this, 'him'?" Luna asked, snapping them back into focus. Handy huffed and stepped forward. "Mole." He admitted. "Oh, you mean the blind citizen that has a turtleneck on all the time?" Erika asked. "Yeah." Handy replied.

"You see..." The beaver began.

"Mole is in fact, completely blind, he has been his whole life. He doesn't talk as much either. Despite this, we do get along very well. I still remember that time we had to work together to escape a prison. During the past couple weeks, I didn't think he'd last as long as he did. About four nights ago, I actually saw the main cause of all the disappearances. I'm not fully sure, but it looked almost like a snake... It came at me and I ended up getting stuck underneath a dumpster. I thought that was it for me, but Mole came out of nowhere. He muttered something, but I didn't get what he was saying. He then took his walking stick, and sent it right into my forehead. When I came back to life, he was gone. The only thing left of him, were his sunglasses."

"So you see, even though he's blind, I guess he knew when I needed help the most, and he decided to sacrifice himself for me. Because of what I've been told, whatever's behind this only comes after things that are alive. That's how Mike saved me..."

Handy finished his speech before wiping a single tear with one of his nubs.
Meanwhile, Cuddles was in a spare bedroom, sitting alone on the edge of the bed. He was looking at pictures and videos on his phone that involved him and Toothy getting into random scenarios, but still having fun despite on how dangerous some of these situations were. As one of these videos were playing, the bunny gently pressed his phone against his chest while letting out a deep sigh. "Don't worry, buddy... I will find you. I promise..." He whispered while staring at a picture of a purple beaver smiling along with him in a selfie.

A sudden knock at the window snapped him out of his thoughts. At first, Cuddles thought he was hearing things, and ignored it, until it happened again.

*Knock, knock, knock*

This time, he put his phone aside and got up to investigate the sound. He walked up to the window and peeked through the curtains, but didn't see anything. He was about to leave when he saw a fist emerge from under the window before knocking again, louder this time. The owner of the fist saw the bunny and made their hand wave at him, before pointing to the latch that was keeping the windows closed and locked. Cuddles tried to get a closer look, but this person was out of the window's frame of sight except for their hand, as if they were hiding.

Cuddles was about to open the window, but thought that he should tell everyone else first. However, he chose not to leave the room until his puffy red eyes went back to normal. He couldn't let everyone see him like this. Cuddles decided to take one peek before locking the window again. He reached up and carefully undid the lock.

As soon as the latch clicked, signalling that it was opened, the windows flew open. Cuddles got smacked in the face with the two frames, causing his nose to start bleeding as he was knocked to the ground. He was about to get back up, but froze at who was climbing in through the window. A familiar deep laughter came from the intruder as they closed and locked the windows behind them. Cuddles knew who it was, and immediately regretted his decision as fear filled his entire body.
