Kagome sat in the library, a sigh leaving her lips. The day was about half over and it seemed like it was just dragging on.

She was now on her free period, which means she could relax...at least somewhat. Kagome didn't want to relax too much for reasons if someone decided to get revenge on her for being put into Slytherin...she wanted to make sure she could react and protect herself.

Kagome knew that she was going to be cornered from her old house soon. She just didn't know when she was going to be cornered.

She had already interacted with Lavender Brown...and once the other lions heard about the little encounter, which she knew they would with how big of a mouth Brown has...they would start cornering her in groups.

Kagome would have to make sure she was well prepared. Then again, she also had to make sure she was on her guard with the other Slytherins. She hadn't made them think she was a snake yet, they all thought her a lion ready to pounce on them at any moment.

Kagome didn't blame them though, she would be cautious of a former lion if she was in their position too.

"There you are." Kagome sat up straight she was expecting an encounter, but not this soon. As she turned around she gave a sigh.

"Helena Ravenclaw," Kagome said in greeting, a small smile on her face.

"Luna wanted me to come warn you that the Gryffindors had been heard whispering that they were going to come and corner you...she thought it best you find somewhere besides the library to hide." The ghost told the former lion, eyes flickering to the entrance of the Library.

"How close are they to the library?" Kagome asked, she wasn't one for running, but she didn't really want to have another run in today.

One was enough, thank you very much.

The Ravenclaw ghost paused for a moment before answering, "They are about a flight of stairs away when I last saw them..maybe two."

Kagome mentally cursed, "Thank you for telling me Helena...I greatly appreciate it." She really did. Kagome was glad she was friends with the quirky Luna at times like this.

Luna was always loyal, but she also looked at things differently, which is how the two ended up becoming friends.

"Luna asked me a favor and I did, so..." Helena curtsied, before she disappeared by walking through the wall of the Library.

Kagome sighed, it looks like she was going to do some sneaking around...it was that or be confronted by lions...something she didn't want to deal with. There was that, and she didn't know how many there were.

She should have asked Helena that...

Standing, Kagome grabbed her things and left the library, making her way towards the Gryffindor Tower, she paused and looked around before giving a soft chuckle and turning around. "I wonder, I've been doing good walking to the Slytherin Common Rooms...I figured that it would be only a matter of time before I opted for the Gryffindor Common Room." She walked down the stairs, unaware of the large group of Gryffindors one flight below her. She walked in a steady pace before she lost her footing and tumbled slightly into the railing, her robe snagging on a chipped piece of the staircase railing. She turned to pull it and cursed at the ripping sound the fabric made. Leaning forward to see the damage, her robe's headpiece fell over her eyes at the sudden movement, but she ignored it and continued messing with her robe.

"Damn it, we missed her somehow!"

"I was sure she was hiding out in the library..."

"She probably ran off to her knew snake pit."

Kagome wanted to literally side jump the wood railing of the staircase she was stuck on. The momentary thought of whether or not her robe would hold out if she did and remain snagged on the railing was pushed to the back of her mind as useless. She continued fidgeting with the robe, she finally cursed to herself as she realized it wasn't coming loose any time soon. Pulling her wand out, she spoke softly and cast a disillusionment charm over her and watched as the soft murmuring from a flight below grew louder as a large group of students rounded the stairs and walked in her direction. Closing her eyes, she hoped no one would bump into her, and waited until everyone was already gone. '...there has to be an easier way to avoid being killed by my previous house!' Glaring at the snagged robe, she gave a hard yank and watched as the fabric was torn and she was set free.

Pansy gave a sigh as she sat down, the other girls doing the same. They were having a meeting on the new Slytherin. Kagome Higurashi.

There was something going on with the girl, none of them knew what...but there was something.

No normal person woke up screaming in the middle of the night. Then again, she had a feeling they were going to learn Kagome Higurashi was anything but normal.

"Pansy?" Said girl looked to the person who said her name and gave them a small smile.

"You doing okay." Pansy nodded, sighing as she leaned back in her seat.

"There is just something about that girl..." Pansy muttered as she closed her eyes. She didn't know what, but there was something about that girl she couldn't put her finger on.

Daphne frowned and nodded, "There is something off about her...something ...darker than the years before."

"If I remember correctly she used to smile more...and she used to be a light witch." Pansy said, trying to think of what she knew about Kagome Higurashi.

If she thought about it; really thought about it...there wasn't much that she did know about the girl. Yes, she was at one point a good witch, or what the students at Hogwarts defined as a good witch, and while she used to smile more, laugh more and speak out more...was it really so strange to see a student go from happy-go-lucky to overly reclusive during break? Pansy wasn't sure if it was the same for Kagome, but she would find out for sure! Even if it took a while, she would uncover the secrets veiled behind those unsure blue eyes. 'What are you hiding...Kagome...'
