Harry Potter didn't like how this year was starting, he had thought after the war was over...after Voldemort was gone the fighting would stop...that he could live normally.

But...here he was at Hogwarts for his last year and the fighting was still going on. It wasn't fighting to kill...but the fighting between Slytherin and Gryffindor.

It was never ending, and frankly he was tired of it.

The war was won, and everyone should just move on with their lives. Just because Voldemort was an evil piece of work, that didn't make the rest of the Slytherins the same.

He just didn't understand why everyone wanted to blame everything on Slytherin.

Sighing he shook his head before he looked at the fireplace in the common room. He just didn't know what to do.

Almost everyone in Gryffindor wanted to take revenge on Kagome Higurashi. She was the only lion to be made a snake.

It was unheard of to them. A betrayal. Something they had to make right...or that is how they all felt.

Harry didn't see it that way. War changed people...it changed him. The only reason he didn't get placed into Slytherin was he had a saving people syndrom. That made him more lion than snake...if he had more self preservation...he would have been made a snake along with Higurashi.

He needed to figure out a way to make all of his housemates leave the girl alone...he saw the look in her eyes.

So empty...

The look of loss.

Kagome Higurashi may put up a great front for everyone in the school...but she was hurting. She was hurting a lot and not letting anyone help her.

...and now she had to put up with being bullied along with getting through whatever had happened to her to make her have that look in her eyes.

Harry was at a lose though. He didn't know how to make his fellow lions listen to him. Ginny and Ron were all for making the 'traitor' pay.

He needed a plan...he just couldn't come up with any as of right now. Maybe he could talk to McGonagall...

Harry shook his head, "Things are such a mess..." He muttered this under his breath as he leaned back into the sofa and closed his eyes, trying to think up what he could do to make this year at school drama free compared to the last years he had been at school.

Too bad he didn't know that his helping would just make things worse.

Kagome stared at her Potions Professor, the man who had been so close to death only a few months ago. "During my fifth year...I mastered my Animagi form."

"How?"

"I don't know...I was always getting dirty looks from Umbridge when she was working here...so...while before the wretches arrival, transfiguring into an animal had been merely a thought...it was quickly made into more upon her arrival. Actually...the only ones who know...or, knew...were the twins. I was really close with them when they were in school. I guess, they found humor in messing with me, and I enjoyed the attention they gave me. They were like brothers to me."

"Ah...the dynamic duo..."

Kagome smiled sadly, "They were...Fred..."

Severus stared uncertainly at the girl, clearing his throat in hopes of changing the subject, he made to say something but stopped short at the lost look in her eyes. Sighing, he asked, "when was the last time you talked to the other twin."
