Since her nightmare, Pansy, Astoria and Daphne had been watching Kagome from the shadows per say. In classes or on break, they would just gaze at her curiously as she went on with her days, doing her schoolwork or whatever else she may be doing. Usually she just hung out with Luna, and occasionally Blaise would settle down beside her, and drag along Draco for what Pansy believed to be humor purposes. It had truthfully angered her at the start, to see Draco telling her to hush up and not question their new resort over why she was now a part of the Slytherin house, but now...watching Draco, he had mellowed out considerably since the war.

He had probably changed the most out of anyone in this school, be it a teacher or a student. She would even bet that between him and Harry, the one whose life had taken a U-turn was in fact the prior of the two.

On the topic of Kagome though, something had changed in the Once-Upon-A-Time-Gryffindor, she just didn't know what.

-x-x-x-

Kagome felt the eyes on her before she looked up or looked around. She could feel it in her classes, her common room, and even at lunch. She even knew who it was that she held the attention so thoroughly. 'Really, you would think those three had something better to do than waste their time spying on me.' Kagome sighed as she watched two girls walk over to her. It had been a full week of peaceful avoidance on her part, and now the two young ladies to whom she owed the annoyance of having to run around the castle like school in irritable anxiety, were walking right towards her. "If it isn't my favorite blonde and ginger haired Gryffindors. How do you both fair?"

"Better I'm sure than a traitor to the Pride." Ginny sneered.

'...traitor to the Pride? Who comes up with these things!?' Kagome's smile didn't falter despite her thoughts on their insults. "Ginny, I heard the most disheartening news. Harry and you are no longer a couple?! And Lavender, I had almost forgotten...how has your lycanthropy therapy been progressing. I heard you had quite a dogfight with Greyback during the final fight at Hogwarts." Okay, even Kagome knew that was a low blow, but they were seriously starting to piss her off. Though really, the look on their faces, had been priceless. She felt two people step up beside her and stared in surprise as she turned to see who had joined her. Daphne Greengrass had stepped up on her left, and to her right was none other than Pansy Parkinson.

"Are you lost, or did you need something? The Gryffindor common rooms are on the other side of the castle." Daphne stated with a softly spoken voice which exuded confidence.

"If you want, we could show you back to the Gryffindor tower, or...were there some personal matters you wished to discuss with Higurashi?"

Kagome was sure now; things had just reached a whole new level of bizarre for her. And something told her things were only going to escalate from there.

Ginny glared hatefully at Kagome, "your snakes won't always be there to protect you..." turning, she grabbed and dragged the still ashen Lavender away back towards the Gryffindor Tower.

Kagome glanced at the girls that had come to her 'rescue' if one would call it that. She didn't know them very well, sure she knew the rumors and things along that line, but she never bothered to really get to know anyone in the school...unless you count Luna.

Luna Lovegood was the closest she was to a person in the school...and now that they were in the same house the two were becoming fast friends.

"What was that about Higurashi?" Pansy asked, quirking an eyebrow.

Kagome gave her a blank look, "You should already know what it was about. I am a 'traitor' or I have also been called as of late, 'Death Eaters Whore' depends on who you ask now a days it seems."

"They seem to be getting creative." Pansy snorted, she had heard the term 'Death Eater Whore' more than once by people of the school.

Daphne stayed quiet as she looked at Kagome, really looked her in the eyes as if trying to find something, but frowned when all she saw was emptiness.

Glancing at Pansy she finally spoke up, stating something she knew she probably shouldn't be so blunt about, but she might as well try being direct, "What part of the war did you partake in...you have changed..."

Kagome's eyes narrowed, as she stood up straight and her voice took a chilling edge to it, "Why do you want to know. I could have had no part in the war. I could have just an been innocent bystander."

Pansy snorted, "I don't believe that. You have too much power in that wand of yours...and your eyes are too empty to not have taken part in the war...clouded with loss, I've seen it in the eyes of many of the other Slytherins."

Kagome looked at Pansy for a moment before her eyes narrowed and she chuckled darkly, maybe even bitterly as she took in the two Slytherins, "I am sure if you ask your parents they will inform you on my...part...in the war. I wasn't a death eater and I wasn't on the light side, but you are right...I did have a part in this war." With that said Kagome turned away, memories starting to flow back into her brain. She could still hear the distant cries from her family...as if it had just happened yesterday.

She would never forget what happened...and Kagome wasn't sure if she would ever heal either.
