The alarms echo through the dimly lit hallway. I never thought I would escape this place. From left to right all I can see is people chained. People such as myself. I look up at the man who's carrying me. Dark skin, gold eyes, brown curly hair. He has a ferocious look in his eyes. I look at the ceiling. Light after light after light. I do not know how long I have been here. But it has felt like an eternity. I didn't think it was possible to escape. Kaspian grunts, moving his grasp on my body to get a better grip of me. I feel static in my back. Presumably from the needle he gave me. We enter an elevator and Kaspian presses the roof floor. The next few moments are full of the sounds of Kaspian's breathing. The door dings open and we enter a massive room full of windows and concrete.

"We are nearly there", he states.

I look forward and see guards. I look back at Kaspian. He can't take these people on his own. Especially with me in his arms. Suddenly, there is a loud BANG and smoke follows from the front side of the room. People spill in. Kaspian looks at me and grins. The room flashes red in and out. I get glimpses of people fighting the guards. Blood pouring everywhere. Screams pounding though my soul. Kaspian starts running. Guards come to attack us only to be pulled back by the other people. Why am I the only one being rescued?

Kaspian proceeds to turn the corner. Ahead I see stairs leading to big glass doors. I think this is the roof...

I feel the sweat off Kaspian's chest. Ahead I see more people. But not guards however... They rush towards the glass door from the outside and smash it open. Kaspian ducks, throwing his body over mine protect me from the glass. He lifts me back into his grasp and stands back up. I look over his shoulder to see a guard running at us with a weapon. I scream out to warn Kaspian but it's too late. I hear a gunshot and kas falls down with me sliding out of his grasp into the stairs. I look up and see Kas is face down and not moving. The guard s is smiling at him while pointing the gun straight at his head. He' s going to kill him. I slowly gather myself back up and run at the guard. Finding all the anger, rage and frustration I have held back in my time of captivity. I throw myself at him. Sliding my legs around his neck and pulling him to the ground. I quickly get back up, ready to fight. He looks at me with a sting in his eyes. I just pissed this guy off. I put my fists up readying myself and he pulls out his stun baton. I smile.

He runs at me this time, stun baton in hand screaming. I stand my ground, waiting for the perfect time. He throws a swing at me and I catch it. Dislodging his baton and throwing him to the ground again. He gets back up, wiping the blood from his nose. "You fucking bitch," he cries.

He runs at me again, going in for a swing. I duck and punch him in the gut. This knocks him off guard. I then quickly jump onto him knocking him to the ground and start throwing punches at his face. Punch after punch after punch. How DARE They lock me up. Torture me. All because THEY think I'm different. A mutant. I scream at him. Throwing everything I have at him. I feel a hand grasp my wrist. I look up, ready to continue fighting. Its Kaspian. He's not dead. But he is bleeding in his shoulder

"You need to stop. He's dead. We have to go right now."

I look down at my victim. With real eyes this time, not full of anger. I have punched this guys skull in. His brain is splattered all over the ground underneath him. I look at my fists. Completely bloody and ripped open. I look back at kaspian.

"I did this. I didn't just hurt this man. I didn't just kill him. I obliterated him with just my brute strength alone. I am a monster."

"Valkrine, its okay. He was going to kill you if you didn't kill him. You saved me. And saved yourself. It's okay."

I feel Kaspian lift me up and we carry each other up the stairs to the broken glass door. I look back and stare at the body. What the fuck is wrong with me?
