Five Nights with Lineth

Awtomatikong napahawak ako sa sentido ko matapos magising mula sa tunog ng keyboard. I immediately brushed my eyes only to see who's still awake at the middle of this hour. It was Lineth.

"Lili, wala ka bang balak matulog?" sumasakit sa ulong tanong ko.

"Tell me how can I sleep, Macey? You know how much I hate small and noisy places like this. Yung kapitbahay nyo ba hindi marunong mag alaga ng bata!?" sigaw n'ya. The light coming from her laptop is already enough for me to see how much irritated she is right now.

"I'm sorry," I uttered.

"Whatever. I'll just finish our script." she replied before she rolled her eyes at me.

Maybe it's really a wrong idea that I brought my groupmates here in my Lola's house. Knowing Lineth, hindi s'ya sanay sa ganitong uri ng bahay na magulo at maingay. Mas lalo pang nakadagdag sa inis nya ng asarin sya ng mga kagrupo naming lalaki kinabukasan.

"Your pimple is getting larger, Lineth." Charles said while continuously laughing. Lili's face turned into red because of so much anger before she walked away.

After the exhausting day of shooting for our film, I thought I'll be able to sleep but I was awakened for the second time because of her.

"Lineth, saan ka galing?" inaantok na tanong ko. She didn't dare to look at me instead she faced her laptop.

"I got pity on your neighbor. I gave her money just to buy a milk for her baby. Gabi gabi na lang ba Macey? Lumalaki na yung pimples ko dahil ingay ingay dito sa inyo!" galit na galit na wika nya.

Sa ikatlong gabi, muli na naman akong nagising dahil sa malakas na music na pinatugtog nya dito sa kwarto. Palagi na lang ako yung naiistorbo samantalang yung iba kong kagrupo ay tulog na tulog pa din.

"Lineth, stop the music, please." I begged but she didn't listen.

Hiyang hiya na tuloy ako dahil sa mga ginagawa nya. Baka hindi lang ako yung naiistorbo nya. Nakakahiya na din sa iba dahil nakikituloy lang naman kami dito.

"I don't care if you can't sleep. Just tell your stupid neighbor to keep quiet so I'll be able to rest physically and mentally. I don't deserve to suffer like this." she answered. I'm getting irritated because she's too selfish. Hindi naman nya kontrolado yung lahat ng bagay sa paligid nya.

Fourth night, I was in the middle of catching a good dream when she interrupted.

"Macey! Can you stop the noise please lang?" panay reklamo nya sa akin.

"I can't, Lineth. You can plug your earphones. Ang lakas ng boses mo. Marami na kaming natutulog. Pagod din ako. Wag ka ng mang abala."

She didn't listen to me. Instead, kinuha nya pa yung speaker para magpatugtog. Because of her, I wasn't able to sleep too. Buti pa yung mga kagrupo ko, mga tulog mantika.

Fifth night, kusa akong nagising. Nanibago pa ako kasi walang maingay dito sa kwarto. I just decided to went back to sleeping dahil baka nagpapahingin lang si Lineth sa labas. Maybe it's a good thing dahil ilang araw na din akong puyat dahil sa kanya.

The next morning, we are all shocked after what he had saw. My groupmates started to cry as we're all staring at Lineth's body that is now lifeless.

Nakadilat ang mga mata nito habang may kutsilyong nakatarak sa dibdib nya.

Muling bumalik sa isip ko yung limang gabing magkasama kaming dalawa.

During the first night, she told me that she's hearing a loud cry of a baby that's why she can't sleep. The truth is, wala namang alagang bata yung nag iisang kapitbahay namin.

Second night, she told me that she gave money to a lady in our neighborhood. That was my tita who became crazy and hang herself after the day she lost her baby. She died fourteen years ago.

Third night, Lineth's loud voice echoed the whole place.

Fourth night, she played a loud music and it's maybe the reason why they are awakened.

Fifth night, she was already missing.

Because of what Lineth did, may mga nananahimik syang naitorbo. She told me that she hates loud noises similar to ghosts and other creepy creatures.

They never want to be disturbed too.
