Chapter 9

(Song: Anthem of the angels by Breaking Benjamin)

*(Y/N) pov*
Why is everything is black? Am I dead?

"Angel open your eyes please." That voice it is Keigo but where is it coming from.

"(Y/N) open your eyes."
"Sweetie open your eyes."

Wait, those two voices are different. They sound familiar.

I opened my eyes and saw two people in front of me. I took a step back in shock.

"Mom? Brother?"

They both nodded with tears in their eyes, I ran and hugged them.

"I m-missed you b-both so much."

"We missed you too sweetie."

Mom pulled away and looked at my face. "Your really are such a beautiful lady. That Hawk guy is lucky."

Brother crossed his arms. "I still don't trust him."

"Wait how do you two know him?"

Mom smiled. "We saw him yesterday when you brought him to the cemetery. We heard everything."

"I felt someone put their hand on my shoulder and my hand was that you two."

Mom nodded while brother laughed. "I also kicked hawks in the back."

I crossed my arms. "Why would you do that?"

He shrugged. "I don't like him."

"Why?"

"He is dating you and I don't want you to get hurt."

"Oh, that's sweet but I trust him and I really do love him." Just the thought of him made me smile. "I know it's a day late but happy birthday brother."

"Thank you for the present and cake."

I looked down at my hands. "So I guess since I'm here I'm dead."

"Well not quite yet. You do have a tough choice to make."

I looked at them worried. Mom continued. "You're quirk isn't exactly what you thought it was. I'm not allowed to explain it but you have two choices. Stay here or walk to that light." She pointed to a bright light a couple feet away.

I looked down. "So if I go to that light I won't be able to see you two anymore."

She lifted my head up and hugged me. "Correct but we will always be with you. We love you."

My throat tightened as I started crying. "I lo-love you b-both"

She pulled away and smiled. "Now go."

I hugged brother and walked to the light. I turned back to both of them.

Brother smiled. "Spread your wings and rise."

*Hawks Pov*

"Please don't blame yourself. I know it will be hard but be happy. Don't fall into despair find someone who can help you through it. I love you so much."

When she stopped talking, I felt her hand fall off my head. I looked up at her. "Angel open your eyes please." I sobbed.

I checked her pulse, very weak but there. I pulled out by phone and called for an ambulance.

"Please w-wake up y-you can't le-leave me."

I should have never formed a relationship with her. This would have never happened.

A few minutes passed and there were sirens. People ran over with a stretcher, I picked her up and placed her down on it.

"She has lost a lot of blood. There is a pulse but it is weak." I explained. They nodded and ran over to the ambulance.

I felt a hand on my shoulder. "You okay?" 

I knew that voice was Endeavors so I didn't bother looking at him.

"Yeah, I'm great."

"You know her don't you?"

"Time of death 7:30."

My breath hitched and my legs gave out.

I looked up when I heard screaming. "Fire."

My eyes widened. (Y/N) was flying but she was on fire. Her wings that were once white and small were now huge and a beautiful red.

Once the flames died down she fell on to her knees. I ran over to her, all her injuries were healed and she was alive.

"Keigo."

I smiled through the tears and kissed her forehead. "Turns out you aren't an angel. You are a phoenix."
